How do you keep these POS sellers from ripping us off.
The feedback was 95 when I bought but dropped to 70 now. And they/he sent item to
"wrong" address and doesn't respond to messages.
Of course UPS is useless and dosn't provide the address sent to to either file a police complaint or retrieve it.
Then of course theres dealing with ebay and their "guarantee of money back" and fighting with them. Its like they are all in collusion to rip us off. One reason I stopped buying off ebay for so long. First time back in a while and get ripped off. Should have gone with Amazon, have had less rip offs and been easier to get refunded there than here.
Sounds like the fake tracking number scam. Call UPS again you just need a letter saying the tracking number was not to your address. En email will do. You don't need the shipped to address.
If you paid by credit card, you can file with your card company. Try to solve it with eBay first before going to your card company.
If you cannot get anywhere with eBay through a INR claim, provided it's past the estimated delivery date, open a INR chargeback with your CC company. Under the MBG the sell is supposed to prove that the item was delivered to the address of the buyer at the time the sale was made.
If tracking shows delivery but you do not receive anything, check with the shipping service to determine if the tracking number corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If not, you may be the victim of a false tracking scam or the seller may have given you the wrong tracking number by mistake. Either way, see here for some good instructions about what you can do about it:
You can avoid many issues by choosing to only do business with sellers that have a proven track record of delivering what was sold and that have sold similar sorts of items before. Avoid new or unproven sellers, sellers with a pattern of serious negative feedback, or sellers that have drastically changed behavior or that have unexplained gaps in selling feedback.
If your seller is a drop-shipper, the seller may have been the victim of the company doing the drop-shipping and providing the tracking number.

Perhaps stop buying from sellers and drop-shippers from third world countries that are famous for scams and poor customer service. Seriously, exactly what sort of experience are do you expect from a seller in Sri Lanka?
Personally, I only buy from USA-based sellers that sell at reasonable prices, and not ultra-low prices that clearly are fakes. Never had a problem that wasn't easily handled.
That may seem like a simple fix. However, the score is relative to the number of items they sell, delivery times, where it will be shipped from, how long they've been on eBay, as well as the kind of merchandise they sell. Savvy buyers resist the immediate impulse to purchase BEFORE looking at the bigger picture. 😉

Another INR claim made through a chargeback, will result in it being presented to eBay who simply replies with the same phony deliver confirmation and the claimant will lose once again.
Even PayPal has a new selection in their "dropdown" claim form: Shipped to wrong address and should be used in lieu of the usual "item not received".
There are no policies or procedure outlined for victims on eBay for the fake tracking scam. After all these years, eBay sticks with their usual denial mode "tracking shows delivered". They typically require a WRITTEN document from the carrier to confirm that the parcel was not intended for or delivered to the buyer. These are often impossible to obtain, and likely why eBay requires them. The MBG is a fail.

So while maybe not ethically correct since the seller lied and scammed rather than an INR chargeback simply open a NAD one with the CC company. What's fair for the goose is fair for the gander so to speak.
Not a seemingly simple fix - I actually READ the feedback left for the sellers I buy from. You can glean an awful lot from buyers experiences, as well as weed out and discount buyers who had unrealistic expectations. In over 600 buying transactions, I've had 2 bad experiences.
