Please help me understand the upside. I am rather new to selling on eBay, but I actually was in the eBay Partner Network for many years, Some months earning 30k in commissions, so id like to think I have a handle on marketing and ROI! Over a 20 year career I never used the seller side of ebay until recently, I just jumped on here on my girls account. Results: 1-46 of 46 Total: $17,044.63 over last 90 days of getting started. But around 8,000 of that was earned via a person I captured from adverts on a site where I posted my listed, I worked to get this client to see my ad. I have no issues paying eBay for selling a product heck I love the concept and will adapt quickly. I just sold something via promoted listing feature last week. Here is a break down of a sale I made last week and what the outcome is $ money wise! Order total $2,901.95 eBay collected from buyer Sales tax -$189.85 Selling costs Transaction fees -$395.07 Shipping label -$53.97 Ad Fee General -$391.76 Order earnings $1,871.30 Roughly a total of 1,099.7 in cost to sell the item. Which is fine as I selected to promote the item and I know ebays fee structure! I also am aware that my repeat guy I found on my own is browsing daily to see what I may have listed. Again I do not mind paying money to people for service. Heck ebay it was one hell of a fight back in the day to get 30 days on our cookies. Imagine if we asked for this ! Well I gave you publicity and maybe just maybe that publicity might of created a sale from your repeat buyer so we will just take our cut. Look I am truly not upset, I am confused, is it going to be ok if I double list my items promote one and not the other and message my people to buy only from the none promoted ad? That makes me feel dirty and reality is I am not looking to waste resources and make things cluttered. If my items average around 400 in promoted fees and this man buys 20 items from me that is 8,000 paid to ebay in ad fees for a person they never got me a sale from! That's the part I am lost on and struggling to understand the logic, I read the logic but not seeing much logic in the answer. Many people are posting wondering about the repeat buyers aspect but seems to be silent so I figured maybe my history and numbers could spark a conversation in here to help myself and others find the upside to this aspect of 2026 adverts!! Thanks in Advance
