Hello everyone,
Join us today at 1 PM Pacific time to discuss your general buying and selling questions. This week tyler@ebay, brian@ebay and myself will be detained for the first half of the chat, but rest assured we will join as soon as possible. All questions will be reviewed and while the chat will close at the normal time (2 PM Pacific Time), we will continue to work on responses after that point.
Looking forward to hearing from everybody!

Thanks to the team for helping me last week with my new seller in Sweden & her accidentally listing free worldwide shipping. I got my items all beautifully & carefully packed. I sent her the money for shipping then I found out she has 6 kids. One with brain damage. All under 17 years old.
See, this is what I keep telling people in the community when they say “let the seller eat it they made the mistake” etc... You never know what a person is going through.
In 2015 I made a purchase, it never came. Finally I messaged the seller, it turned out his wife had died in his arms & he forgot all about me & my item. I left positive FB & told him to keep the $5. A year later, I got a letter from him with $5 in it.
Most people are good honest people.

wrote:"Thanks for acknowledging that people want more boxes and sizes.
My concern is that ebay is advertising thing that they can't or won't supply.
the promotion clearly says 10+ sizes and ebay only has 4. So ebay is aware of the discrepancy but has not changed the terms of the offer. When will ebay adjust the offer or give us the sizes they promised?"
I think we need to have some consideration of Alan and friends. After all, they can only relay messages and concerns to the teams and being the messenger isn't always a rewarding job. They have nothing to say about what gets done or when or by whom. It isn't being kind to shoot the messenger.
Absolutely!

We are using the promotional listing to get eyes on our items and then when we had that promo on the top buyer would click on it and buy more items from our store. With new move to the bottom buyer will just see the high priced item and get out of the listing.
There is another problem with those promotions. For some reason, eBay stopped to show those promotions in the search. Why is it so difficult to help the small seller and keep those bugs out?
This is another of those issues where eBay promises to do one thing and then they change it without amending or notifying those involved. This has happened over and over on ebay.

Does ebay have a policy regarding how guest buyers can purchase items on ebay.
I realize that all they need is to pick their item, pay for it and they never have to register an account.
Can you tell me more about this process? Why do you have it this way , what can those buyers do, and can anyone purchase as a guest user, even those with a registered ebay account.?
Are there any limitations or rules regading guest users?
Will you please post a link to the rules/policies regarding guest users. Thank you.

I ask because I have a buyer who has purchased and returned the same $1,800 item multiple times. Since they already saw it in hand the first time around why would they be allowed to keep buying it and returning it?Oh, that is bizarre. I've heard of Buyer's Remorse but a chronic case? That's crazy!
Even more bizarre is that it isn't the first time and that is why I am asking for clarification.
If you accept returns, you accept them for any reason (or no reason), including buyer's remorse. The return policy applies to any listing it is on. So as far as eBay policy applies it should not matter whether it is the same item a buyer has bought previously and returned, since the listing says Returns Accepted.
Every seller has a tool - the blocked bidder list - to prevent this from happening. If a buyer did this with an item of mine, they wouldn't get past a second return.

@coinslabz26... you need to add this eBay member to your personal Blocked Bidder List. Read below:

I think my previous question may have gotten lost in the shuffle.
Is the FedEx DIM calculation denominator of 166 OFFICIAL? Has that been agreed upon by FedEx? Or is it just an eBay calculation error (that will subsequently cause a price adjustment by FedEx when packages are reassessed)?
Thanks!

I was recently told by phone support that buyers are welcome to keep buying and returning the same unique item as many times as they like as long as a seller has a return policy. Can you confirm this is true?

As long as the byer is not hurting the reputation of the seller ebay no longer cares about the seller on this issue. Ebay allows buyers to purchase if blocked by using a different buyer id.

#94, 24Jan18: re #88, 17Jan18: Can't give a Combined Shipping discount through eBay; have to refund thru PayPal. eBay doesn't have a any plans to change that.
ALL of my last 8 sales involved combined shipping. Not only will eBay not acknowledge multiple sales to the same customer, I paid FVFs on $23 of S&H that I refunded to the customers.
Paypal refunded their fees on the $23; eBay did not.
Bad for sellers who offer combined shipping to buyers of multiple items.
Any chance this can be changed? if not changed in SW, any chance sellers could request a refund of fees by calling customer service?

HI, Alan: Just want to mention that there seems to be issues going on with tracking. The delivery timeframe estimates appear to be correct on listings, but the actual tracking seems to be overly optimistic, LOL! My purchases have been coming late according to tracking but not according to the estimated delivery timeframe. I have read where a seller has been negged for this. I think you are already aware of this, but just in case!
Thank you, Alan.
Hope you're doing well.
Is this issue happening on multiple carriers, or just one? If you can narrow it down for me, I'll chat with the Shipping team and have them investigate.
Thanks!
Hi to you, too! I'm fine and hope you are as well.
To answer your question, it's not multiple carriers; most everything was shipped USPS.
Hope this helps, and thank you very much!
Hi @castlemagicmemories,
Can you send me some examples via PM?
Thank you!

Is this information correct?

I see on my dashboard that I have 5 items designated as "late upload of tracking".
Two of them were in a package of THREE items I sold to the same person; one of them had tracking uploaded on time, apparently, but the other two were "late".
It doesn't make sense to me that those other two can possibly generate a "late shipping" demerit, when it's obvious they were shipped on time with the other item.
Hi @vrykalak, our Customer Service team can take a look at this. If all of the listings had the same shipping timeframe expecations, then this is something we can review for possible defect removals.
