I hope the moderator will look at this. A few months ago, i got my 1st negative feedback from a very new eBay buyer. I spoke to chatted with eBay support. They all said this will be removed . It was not removed. I called and chatted again, again they looked at the item and said this will be removed. It was not removed. The buyer admitted buyer made a mistake of 'knowingly' buying an untested item. The negative feedback was not removed. This dropped me from 100% to 99.5%. So moderator and community....Why did an item listed as untested, described it as UNTESTED IN THE TITLE, Described it in the description, and to top it off, the buyer admitted it in the negative feedback left on my account they seen the word UNTESTED in title and description....not get the eBay monitors NOT change this a few months ago? So,...to the ebay executives, supervisors of the monitors, tell me ...what part of UNTESTED did you not understand???? Stop telling me from read eBay vague policy. I did read it. Again, moderator, and supervisor, and ebay executives..."What part of UNTESTED do YOU not understand???

Had the items been tested, the comps or asking price would have been just under $100. However , I sold it at an extremely low "take a chance" . Thanks for your following this.

I seen monitors in this community forum. Perhaps one of them will realize there is something wrong here. Thanks for your repsonse to this . this helps eBay realize something can be improved on.

Board executives have the same ability to log into community. Are you saying they are banned and not watch how mentors , supervisors , managers are handling issues?
Thanks for your following this issue.

No, I'm not saying that.... what I'm saying is; this forum is manned by volunteers. Ebay "executives, supervisors, managers" COULD CARE LESS about these forums, they're billed as discussion pages and nothing more. The moderation of same is outsourced to Khoros.
In the eyes of ebay brass, these forums are nothing more than a distraction, or a buffer between ebay and it's miserable customer service. Sure, you may see an occasional post from an ebay 'team member', which more often than not pertain to technical glitches or introducing new formats. I can assure you, playing keyboard warrior until your fingers cramp up will not change ebay policy.

Thanks for adding and sharing your experience and insight on this forum. You could be right as to the porpose of this forum. Im hoping ( but not very hopful) that it may be a wake up call for the board at eBay. Thanks again.

I think we are getting philosophical here. Zig Ziglar said "we are ALL salesmen. We sell ourselves to others everyday." From selling yourself to a GF, to selling yourself to a new boss. When someone tries to sell you a new car you are buying at your own risk. Life is a risk.

There was Nothing wrong here for any 'exec' to 'reverse'.
Sounds like you mentioned nothing about the condition of the cases, which is what the feedback stated.
Regarding 'other sellers selling VHS tapes'- if they tested it and it worked, it is listed as USED; so of course they wouldn't have to list it as 'for parts not working'.

For sure Ebay is Caveat Emptor, but still has a stringent buyer protection policy in force at the same time.

It turned out that they were all working, did it not? The buyer said all worked, some last leg . some with cracks .....thats all that matters. It would been wrong to list as 'parts only' where 100% positive item does not work.

@mooncat_watches wrote:Also, if you put the condition as anything OTHER than "for parts, not working" or whatever equivalent for that category, you're hosed no matter what you put in the description or title.
They would still have been hosed if they put the correct condition, even if "parts" was not available for that category.

Buyere remorse. Did they also ask to return it? Ask ebay to send them a link to revise feedback. This has been a valuable learning experience for you. I feel the best answer to your question was description: UNTESTED AND DOES NOT WORK. Do not sugarcoat it. I recently tossed 3 laptops instead of listing them for parts.

So it was sold as Untested, at a price that would be a gamble.
The buyer then tested it, found it worked, but was not happy with the cosmetic appearance?
Send a return shipping label, get it back, and relist it at a higher price as Tested and Working.

Those cracks were not mentioned in your description and that's what the neg was for.
