I do not have the experience some of you have but, you have absolutely no recourse if a buyer makes a not as described or defective claim, not any seller protection at ebay.

ebay has certainly turned everything for a seller upside down !! I decided to have no part of this new paymnet nonsense ! Ebay has basically made the seller their employee and I do not care for them to have the total control over me ! Good luck to you

Had a new buyer with zero feedback con me and they got away with it. Buyer swapped out his old switch with my new switch and sent me his old switch saying it was defective. I reported the buyer to ebay. I took several pictures of side by side comparison of my new switches vs the returned used switch to show it was extremely worn and used and not the same switch he purchased 2 weeks prior. I also scribe my initials very small into everything I ship out. My initials were not on the returned switch. Guess my 18 years of being a honest loyal eBay seller means nothing. Extremely upset and frustrated eBay sided with a  new buyer with zero feedback. I immediately blocked him from ever buying from me again. Sellers beware of buyers swapping out their used merchandise and sending you their old used junk. eBay will side with the buyer. Lesson learned.

I'm pretty sure ebay is thrilled to see us old timers leave. We can remember when ebay was BOTH profitable and fun. Many of us had a real sense of community that extended into the real world at shows, magazines and shops.

We've cut our buying down by about 80%. I figure our present and future stock will take a couple years more to sell out. Until then, we'll plug along and, eventually, enjoy some free time.

Maybe then, our frown wrinkles will smooth out.

I am with you!  I have 23 years in and it just does not matter!  eBay has always catered to the Buyer and Sellers can just go to you-know-where!

I have been selling for 20 years and it has done nothing but go down hill. You can no longer just call ebay , you request for them to call you and give you an estimated call back time. Don't hold your breath.  They may say the will call you back in 30 minutes, but it will actually be 5-6 hours or longer. The new payout they require you to use is messed up also. my payouts were coming through fine, then they said my credit union wasn't working and held my payments for 2 weeks before they accepted the same verification info they had been using in the first place. If I could sell the junk somewhere else I would. I despise this company now.

Yes I am slowly leaving I will sell new only items at a measly profit margin and sell my good higher dollar items on another auction only site.Too many fraudulent returns and troublemakers here...24 years the stories I could tell all of you but you know already....

same thing happened to me but with a 250.00 remote door lock numb nuts even sent ebay a photo with his piece of junk and not even same brand installed on his door..they still refunded him I contacted the BBB and got my money back but nothing happened to him..there is a lot more to this story but thats what basically happened

I took a measured approach when forced into Managed Payments last year.  I ended a my auctions and left the fixed price listings in place.  I also shifted most of the higher value items to other venues where the seller had more controls and protections on the transactions.  

Yes, sales on ebay dropped significantly, but so did my fees.  It was nothing personal, just business.  

As for Managed Payments,  its been a source of frustration at times as a seller and it does not work as cleanly as it should.   Would have been nice if it was an option, not a requirement, but that water is way under the bridge at this point.

22 Years here as well.  It's nearing time to exit stage left. Managed payments was the topping on the exit cake.

Wow! I am sorry all of you are having so many issues with MP 😞 It has been a blessing for me and my sales have been so much better since switching over which I did kicking and screaming due to all the negativity. If this is the business you are truly wanting to do you will be back once you try the other platforms. I have been on here since 1999 and tested these other sites in 2013, pulling half my inventory off here and distributed it across 4 other platforms. Biggest mistake I ever made!!! I am happily selling on here with their rules in place and me not having to pay any overhead that comes from a brick and mortar nor do I have the labor output for someone to sell my items. I will gladly take my 500-600 monthly bill! Best of luck to anyone that decides to leave and try other paths. You will only understand what I am talking about once you go through the experience like I did.

There certainly seem to be a lot of sellers frstrated by Managed Payments. Thankfully the grim reaper has not pointed his bony finger at me yet.
