Return Issue

I had a customer and they were not happy with the purchase. I said I would take a return and they needed to go through eBay. They could not do it. They asked, pleaded, just to send it back to me. They sent it back to the Franklin, Tennessee, address that was on the delivery label. I have a tracking number that shows delivery.

I have tried for over an hour to contact or communicate my issue with eBay. Once again, I cannot get past AI to talk to human being at eBay.  They make money off me but cannot talk to me. Anyone out there know how to talk.

An interweb search may provide a link to that name in Franklin. May not be the same individual, but would be quite the coinkydink.

Ebay doesn't use the Tennessee address, you do.

Ok, aside from this mess of a return address, the OP wanted to know how to contact a person at ebay... in the AI chat request a call back, they will call you back at the number provided.   Or contact eBay CS at Facebook or on   Twitter @askebay.   But just know, eBay cant get your item back.  The only thing they can assist you on is getting your ship from and ship to address corrected for future shipments

OP

Please explain why the Tennessee address is an extended stay hotel? Did you stay at this hotel and have your packages shipped there and now you forgot to change the address?

Ebay did away with localized "Humans" because

a.) they cost money they didn't want to spend

b.) the site has automated procedures for everything so there is nothing that 'answering a phone' would do for you

c.) the reps they do have is a hired 3rd party, most being in another country and the reps that you speak to do not know most of the systems as well as have NO ability to do/change anything

In this case- there is NOTHING any rep can do for you- new ones, old 'domestic style' reps from back in the day- etc. Since YOU have the wrong return address in the system. Ebay doesn't, YOU do. YOU needed to change your 'from' address when you created that label, and do so in your

ACCOUNT SETTINGS (hover over your name on top left and click it, find ALL addresses that you need to change (there is more than 1 you need to do ie. Main Address, Returns mailed to etc.

So, this is on you.

There is NOTHING anyone at the site can do for you.

Refund the buyer or ebay will do it for you and ding you for doing so.

and then change your 'address' for all future purchases.

My customer sent my return to the address on the delivered package. That means not my home. That’s not hard. My problem is I cannot get anyone at eBay to talk to me. AI stops me or hangs up.  That is called a bleep organization. So, if you can help, please.

What is the address to that you use on your packages?

Have a great day.

It's the sellers job to keep their account details up to date.

Have a great day.

Sorry, but there's no one at Ebay that can help you get the item back.

Have a great day.

Why don't you use your home address? Or at least use the correct state?

Georgia and Tennessee are in different zones and when you ship (and when you get returns), the label prices are not going to be correct for the zones.

Do you get USPS underpayment charges?

ETA: Even if the buyer did the return through the order, that Tennessee address is the one that the item would have gone to since that's the one that's on your account!

You got what you asked for, a return to Franklin TN.  If the seller gets refunded you are out of lick for screwing with the system.

Wondering if you got your address situation fixed?

My customer sent my return to the address on the delivered package. That means not my home.

So who or what is at the return address?
Have you spoken to them to get your item back?

In any case, the buyer returned the purchase to the address it was sent from.

You owe the buyer their refund.

The rest is your problem for using an incorrect address as the return address.

Another reason why dropshipping is not a good business plan.

I think it's extremely likely he was sent to time out from the forums that night.  Did you see the stuff he was writing?  The mods kept editing and deleting behind him, but I reckon they got sick of it.  Honestly I couldn't believe he didn't vanish the instant he called one of them (by name) a "tehranny" thinking that was a clever misspelling I guess.  And I wouldn't blame them if they edit/delete this reply too, LOL.

Anyway, dude was by far the most hostile and potty-mouthed participant I have ever seen here.  I mean a whole other level.

So I missed this the first time through so did not get to see the off the rails portion of the postings.

He's not alone in not wanting to use his actual home address as the return address on his packages. eBay is full of some of the craziest, vindictive buyers that you would NEVER want to have your home address.

Unless the hotel you rando selected as your return address still has the package and is willing to forward it to you - you're not getting the item back. That's on you for "messing with the buyers head". Upside - since buyer did not go through official return procedures, you do not yet owe them a refund. If they figure out how to open a return and can prove via tracking it was delivered to the zip code you have listed as your return address on your account - then you are going to owe them a refund and you are on your own to get the item back from the rando address.

Best thing I can advise - go to your local fedex type shipping center and rent a box to use as your return address if you don't want to give your home address out as the return address. I know several sellers that do this.
