I keep getting seller offers for items I merely looked at but didnt watch?

so sometimes when I list car parts, I will do an ebay search to see prices and gather info before listing them.  especially if I'm not very familiar with them.  What has been happening the past couple of months though is that, sometimes immediately, sometimes overnight, sometimes a couple days later...I will suddenly get a seller offer for something I actually viewed vs just list scrolling.  Yet I did not put this particular item in any of my watch lists.

Is this something new? Is there a way to stop this from happening? its just really weird to me.

It's fairly new; any seller that has 'send offers to interested buyers' will send you an offer (it's automated, sellers does not know who it's being sent to). There is a place in your preferences to block offers being sent, but if you do you will not get any (including items you may be interested in). If that's the case, just delete the offers as they come.

It's the latest from eBay.   If you log out of eBay, then you can look at items and that  won't happen.  Best to clear your cookies too.

After I comp a bunch of items, I immediately go to "My eBay" then to "Recently Viewed", and then click "Edit" and "Delete". This has helped a lot.

The only other way to stop this from happening besides blocking all offers in your preferences, is to simply stop viewing any items.  And I'm pretty sure that this is the solution being utilized by most eBay buyers who are fed-up with the deluge of offers they don't want at this point.  eBay with yet another self-inflicted wound.

I totally agree!!!! Its just frustrating and a waste of time to keep getting offers from sellers on items I casually looked but not in my watchlist!   I'm truly considering taking my items to another website!!!!
