So, I got suspended yesterday for 7 days, due to transactions out of Ebay. Fair enough . Ebay makes the rules. I sell higher end sport jerseys ranging in price of $300 to 6-8-$1000. Before you think, Wow I wish I can make money like that, let me say its not like I sell one everyday, especially today, and I have my cost into these items as well. When I sell a jersey for lets say $400 , ebay takes there 15-20% , and Pay Pal takes there ( whatever it is ) cut, which would work out to around $80 after all is done. To me that is a lot of money. Consider a seller who sells an item for $10 . His / her cost would be $2 to sell that item. If I sold an item for $1000 , my cost would be $200.
There is something wrong here. For both sellers we get the exact same service and tools to sell. There should be a cap somewhere.
I have been suspended for selling outside of Ebay. Did I learn anything?Your **bleep** right I will do it again, and will be smarter about it. If Ebay would give me a better percentage on my sold costs , then sure I am all about giving them their fair cut, and would have to look at ways of saving ton their absorbent fees..
Iknow , some of you are going to say, well why not leave Ebay, or that's the deal you signed up for. Which is fine. I get it. I guess I am just a rebel...Thanks for reading my rant.

If I were them, I'd let you come back on the condition that you pay upfront. Yes, you heard me. Pay before it sells. Otherwise forget it. If every seller decides to steal services, guess what? They cease to exist and we all lose.
It is their business. Their website. Their decision what types of payments to accept. If you want to be in charge, create your own website. If you want to use their website, pay their fees and follow their rules..

By "you" i mean those who got suspended for stealing services. I think I lost track of who the OP was. I'm shocked to see so many people with a seared conscience about stealing eBay services. It's not about whether you think eBay deserves it. It's that stealing ANYONE'S services is wrong. ALWAYS.

"On the other hand, if someone finds out about a listing through eBay, then eBay expects to be paid. Which is fair because their advertising / venue has made the sale possible."
So just out of curiosity, if someone goes to one of my listings and sees down at the bottom where other sellers are listing the same items and clicks on one of those sellers items and buys it, do I get a cut since Ebay profited from advertising posted on a listing I paid for?

You don't purchase the whole page. You don't own the space. And if you don't like the other ads, you don't have to list your item on eBay at all.
It's one thing to disagree with something eBay does and to voice your opinion. It's another thing to steal their services and justify it because you don't like this or that eBay policy. All that is revealed is that you don't have a properly functioning conscience. Hello? One does not justify the other. I'm sure you wouldn't overlook your own services being stolen as long as people can find something they don't like about you.

It doesn't really affect me however I am concerned, folks like you come here with some regularity, they post up some dramatic fire-raising rant about something... And then we never hear from them again, which makes me wonder if these people ever come back to read any replies, and if they don't what was the whole purpose?
Yes, I see you just wanted to rant, I get it but maybe just maybe use this opportunity to learn a thing or two?
That having been said...
Here's my two bits:
I have signed up with a brand new account from a separate PC with a different IP address because I wanted anonymity and yet ebay somehow managed to link my accounts. And that certainly doesn't happen that often but happen it does and it just goes to show the level of craftiness that ebay employs in detecting those who might be up to no good.
I too have been violated in the past and felt slighted and wronged and got to thinking "how dare they" and especially the reason being so petty and inconsequential, I thought "hah, I will show them!" But... I decided to read up on things first and in some sort of order decided it might be best to take ebay's actions seriously instead.
I am glad I did, in these regards ebay doesn't joke around. There have even been a few really BIG players who got violated out of existence and to this day not a one has made a comeback. However a really big player likely doesn't need ebay to survive, to them it was merely another revenue stream that they can do without and now they do because they are no longer a member here. But can you do the same?
Ebay's warnings are actually in ways more than generous.
Ebay has the ability to violate someone more than once, for the same thing, and in such quick succession that if one has several of these violations they can instantly suspend an account all in one fell swoop. So if all you got was a 7 day suspension I would take that slap on the wrist as a reminder to change thine ways right now and before things get any worse.
Good luck to you, although if I had to guess you won't be coming back to read this so I'll just leave this here for anyone else it might help.

Without honest sellers who pay what is owed, you mean?
If eBay has sellers without buyers, it will eventually be gone.
If eBay has sellers who steal service, it will eventually be gone.
If eBay is overrun by dishonest buyers and sellers, the cost of doing business will be too high for all.
As for who is doing whom any favors: It's not about favors. It's about business. They offer you services for selling and products for buying. Use those services legally and ethically if you choose. Or don't use them. As just one seller, your participation makes little real different EXCEPT if you decide to steal services. Then you will be forced out. That is just and right. Theft does no one any favors; in the end, not even the thief.

So why are you still hanging around the boards complaining? You say you're done, but you don't act like it.

Interesting! Admitting that you broke the rules and intend to do so again will probably not lead to a long and fruitful life as an eBay seller.

I assume this is a buying ID that you're using to post this. I can see that you aren't above retracting bids. I'm not sure that is such a good stance for a seller.

You are correct, I don't know you. I did read your entire post. I can't discuss your character, you don't seem to have any. Your "rant" almost brags that up. Sue your parents for the way you were brought up, it's probably all their fault that you are so lacking.
