Re: Automated feedback

I would not worry about how your competitors list their items, If their listing looks terrible that should play in your favor, So why complain?

Focus on what you can control.

If you spend as much time improving your business as you do complaining about your competition, I have no doubt you will have great success in 2026.

If your competitor is as inept as you say, then they will be paying the price for it.

I'm sure you realize you have received 130 automated positive feedbacks.  Do you feel the same about some of those?

Obviously OP is mad about receiving 130 positive feedbacks, otherwise they'd be a pretty big hypocrite 😉

Re: Automated feedback

I don't even know who my "competition" is, much less what their feedback or listings look like.

Nothing has really changed, buyers look at a sellers bad FB, not the good FB and FB is not displayed to buyers in chronological order.
I have 1 neg that I got 7 months ago and if you look at my FB under a item my 7 month old neg will be the 3rd or 4th down, it was on top consistently for 6 months despite hundreds of positive FB since then.

Re: Automated feedback

Well I had no idea they had that automated feedback garbage on my feedback aswell I dont want it! I earn my feedback by not being scammy and not taking my photos 10 feet away with high brightness his customers do complain and that's what they are covering up its just a bunch on non sense obviously made to cover up bad business practices you guys are looking at my console king feedback but the business i'm talking about is actually my other ebay account which is also 100% feedback I work hard to give ebay a good reputation and name I don't need them being creative coming up with ways to cover up the bad sellers.

Re: Automated feedback

How is it covering up anything?  Negs are still negs and we're all getting the same automated feedback.  The playing field absolutely could not be more level. Your "competition" has no advantage here.  If their overall number is higher than yours, it's because they've sold more items.  If you want your score to go up, sell more stuff.

Personally, I don't care one way or the other about the automated feedback.  Potential buyers can read and differentiate between "real" feedback and automated.

Re: Automated feedback

cover up the bad sellers.

If BUYERS considered them bad sellers........wouldn't they post negs or at least neutrals?  Ebay isn't replacing any buyer feedback with the auto feedback.

Just a general point........Not everyone thinks the way we, as individuals, do...... If the other guy is cheaper, some will buy just on that point.

Re: Automated feedback

Again, that auto FB for sellers was announced before it was instituted.

Buyers are still free to leave negatives for unsatisfactory transactions or to open INR or NAD cases.

Presumably that auto FB is left by eBay for sellers because there appear to have been no issues with the transactions.  Hard to understand why this is such an issue for you.

Re: Automated feedback

well let me try and help you understand he sells actual garbage broken stained cloth parts and when someone complains he gives them a full immediate refund they even say so in their feedback he sends out garbage and gives the people their money back and the few who still leave negative feedback are now getting buried under all this automated **bleep**. is that the ebay experience you want for yourself or your family? I have a hard time understanding why so many people are confused.

I don’t think anyone is confused. They just disagree. Why is selling “garbage” such an issue? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. The first item ever sold on eBay was a broken laser pointer. If the buyer’s aren’t leaving negative feedback, and you think he deserves it, what is your proposal? That eBay offers automated negative feedback?

I do not think eBay is "going out of their way to cover up his bad business practices".

In fact, I suspect eBay is responding to years and years of seller complaints that eBay was "going out of their way to cover up good business practices"  because most buyers who have a good experience never leave feedback.

That aside  ...

I do think that counting the lack of feedback as feedback is misleading.

IMHO a seller's feedback percentage is no longer a feedback percentage ... it is now just a "non-negative transaction count".

Re: Automated feedback

Here's the thing...nothing you're complaining about is a violation of ebay policy.  If your competition is so sloppy and careless, he's doing you a favor as he represents one less real competitor.  His crummy pics should delight you as it only makes you shine more.

You, on the other hand, actually are violating ebay policy with your very lovely (I mean that sincerely) pics.

So, maybe less energy should be dedicated to mr. sloppypants and more attention should be paid to your own business practices.  Fortunately for both of you, ebay is pretty lax about enforcing any of this, which is probably a good thing for all of us as it's quite easy to cast stones while perched in our own little glass houses.
