Hi @Anonymous, if you can let us know what your questions are about promotions manager then we'll be happy to take a look. There isn't a specific team to contact in regard to promotions manager questions. Customer support can assist with this tool. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get a call back. If you let me know the day and time you called then we can ensure the agent receives coaching.

I can look at the other thread later today and get back to you with the information I have. Thanks!

Thank you. I will gather my questions about shipping promotions and post them to the other thread I created about the volume discount tool.

1. If a buyer states in ebay messaging, which is my ebay documentation file so to speak, that they want to return due to doesn't fit, don't like it, found something cheaper but thanks anyway, and not a problem with the actual sale, then the buyer ultimately chooses SNAD with a bogus reason to get free return shipping on the seller dime. Why can't CS view the ebay message (which is evidence) and just overturn the SNAD via the seller phone call to CS?

2. I need to know what is the peer group I am being compared to regarding returns metric. I think I understand only SNADs will be counted in the return metric and only counted if ebay has to step in as not resolved by the seller?

3. And if a return request for SNAD is resolved by the seller behind the scenes and eBay did not have to step in, it was resolved, why would that SNAD be counted in the returns metric.

I posted this in the other group and did not tag you ... but I am getting  questions like this from other sellers

Could you please let me know if this is a glitch or steps this seller and others need to take to have this  resolved! TIA

"I just discovered some of my items were put on sale, some as much as 50% off that I did not put on sale. Some of them are for an odd amount like 53% off. They seem to be on higher priced items. I run sales for 25% off but I never do sales for higher than that. Has anyone else had this issue? I also just noticed the listings that have the error have the price and the 53% off written in red bold. The ones I put on sale is written in black no bold lettering. I'm positive I did not mark down these items. There are four I found in the 700+ items I have listed."

Is there any chance that could be related to this?

You do not need any information from the state of Washington to answer our very specific questions about the change eBay has made to the tax rate table.  It is a simple yes or no question.  Either eBay is currently collecting and remitting the tax or the message we are seeing in the tax rate table is an error.  Which is it?

When listing packages of cards that hold money or gift cards for holiday giving,  the sell your item form did not have the box to input the upc numbers.  I asked Syed on the Product Catalog discussion board if this was intentional and he replied that it was.  Although most individual greeting cards and multi-packs have upc's printed on them, upc's in this category are not required at this time he stated.

I am assuming there are other categories that when listing new items also do not currently require a upc on the Sell Your Item form.  Correct?  If so, do you have any idea of which categories currently do not require upc's when listing new items?

If the SYI form does not present the upc input box is it safe to assume the item will appear in search results and will be seen by potential buyers?

Does seller creation of an item specific for the upc help in search results or is it not seen unless a buyer clicks on the listing?

Hi @b86fiero, the list of categories that do require this is much shorter and can be found here. If the listing form does not have an option to provide a UPC, then this would indicate the product identifier is not required in that category. You can read more about Product Identifiers and how this benefits you here.

The embedded live broadcast videos do not show up in Firefox. Going to the FaceBook page requires a log in, but if a direct link to the video on FB is provided then it does not require a log in. In addition to embedding the video every week can you add a direct link below the video so Firefox users can see it, please?

Hi @coffeebean832, I just checked this myself in Firefox and was able to see the video without issue. Can you tell me what version of Firefox you are using? Have you tried clearing your cache & cookies? We're happy to work on improvements where needed and look forward to an update from you slight_smile

Firefox Quantam 61.0.2 on a Mac

Yes, cleared cookies, cache, history. This is what it looks like:

Do I need to change something in my browser preferences to see it?

Hi @coffeebean832, thank you SO MUCH for the screenshot and added information. I'm not sure if a browser setting needs to be adjusted but will work with doug@ebay to get to the bottom of this and work on any necessary fixes.

I don't think he meant info from WA state, but info from the team at Ebay that handles the application of this policy/rule/law on the Ebay site.

Is there a glitch on the forum today?  A post from autopiacarcare went missing shortly after posting and it would have been interesting to have the response from that post, is there was one to be had.

Any chance checking on that - it was about the tax payments to WA and the ebay message on the tax page saying that ebay was now collecting the tax and sellers didn't have to worry about the Sales Tax to Washington.

Hi @gracieallen01@autopiacarcare's post is #5 in this thread and my response is post #40. We will be happy to provide more information once it is available.

I was told at eBay Open by eBay's Liv that the Promotions Management team had no one who could create a replacement for the outdated year long retail calendar. That now appears to have been confirmed.

Could one of you explain the recent announcement:

We are focused on delivering the very best experience possible on eBay through product-based shopping. To that end, we have decided to provide more time to associate your listings with the eBay catalog in certain categories.

As part of our ongoing efforts to optimize the buying experience, we are still requiring catalog association for all remaining enabled categories by September 17, 2018. We encourage you to visit Seller Hub to address listings in categories that still require you to associate to the catalog by September 17, 2018, as well as to create and update products in the eBay catalog where they are needed.

Additionally, as we continue to expand and enhance the product-based shopping experience, we invite you to visit Seller Center to stay up to date on the product-based shopping experience.

Thank you to all the sellers who have dedicated their time and energy to associating listings with the catalog. We’re committed to building a powerful and modern marketplace and eBay catalog association is a crucial part of that.

As always, thanks for selling on eBay.

It's certainly unclear, at least to me.........

Hi @dhbookds, happy to elaborate - initially we announced that over 100 categories would be required to adopt/associate/use the catalog when creating listings beginning on Tuesday, September 11th. At this time we have reduced this number to 55 categories, which can be found using the link in our Announcement. Seller's can review specific listings requiring updates by going to Seller Hub > Listings > Active > Requires product or by using this link.

In short, some categories still require association with catalog data as of September 11th, but sellers will have more time to add this information to their listings for other categories.

Thanks Trinton...........I really feel stupid for not being able to figure that out from the announcement.........

If I look at Seller Hub to see this information, will I still be able to back out and go back to seeing the eBay pages I'm used to seeing?
Alternatively, is there any place other than Seller Hub where this information is available?

Hi @vrykalak, once Seller Hub is on the account it becomes the default view. However, the non-Seller Hub selling pages can still be accessed by selecting "Summary" from the My eBay dropdown menu. Then, place your cursor over the Activity tab and select 'Sell'. The only place to see which items require product information is within Seller Hub.

Thank you. I am just trying to be clear because every eBay rep I have spoken to about this keeps confusing the issue by saying we just need to refer to the state or they need to get more info from the state.  I even had a CS rep tell me to contact the Washington Department of Revenue directly.  None of them seem to want to address my question about the change to the eBay tax rate table and instead keep giving me boiler plate reponses about the Washington tax law.

Would I get in trouble for sharing my address (via eBay messages) with a member that wants to send me collectible cans so that I could make ornaments for them.  The finished product would be listed on eBay for their purchase.  No past or current current transactions with this member.

Hi @mcdougle4248, while you are not able to share this kind of information prior to the buyer making a purchase from you, you can create a listing for the custom ornaments and once they have purchased the item, you will be able to share contact info with each other. Additionally, some sellers are able to provide potential buyers with their phone number for customer service questions prior to purchase via the Ask the seller a question feature; if you are able to do this, the option will be available to you within your Account Settings.
