Hello,
Starting from today ebay Search Results no longer showing Seller ID, only generic word "Seller". Is it a technical issue or intentional change? Is it a technical issue or intentional change?
Thank you.

After encountering this problem in two browsers (Brave on a Windows 10 machine and Chrome on an Android phone) and being able to get the seller usernames to appear once more by clearing cache and deleting eBay cookies, the problem surfaced in Firefox on my Windows 10 machine.
Clearing the cache and deleting eBay cookies did not work this time. So I restarted the browser and tried again. There may have been a pending update that needed to install. Still no success.
Third time deleting cache and eBay cookies seems to have worked, and now the seller usernames appear once more in Firefox for me.
If clearing cache and deleting eBay cookies has not worked up to this point for you, you may want to restart your browser and try it again.

Yes!
As of Thur. 6/27 the seller IDs are back in my Firefox.
I followed eburtonlab's advice and deleted all my ebay cookies.
The refreshed screen immediately showed the seller IDs.
thank you...

You are most welcome -- thanks for following up!

And yet, the same steps on Windows 11 Chrome do NOTHING to fix the problem for me. Delete all cookies for all sites, empty cache (All Time), restart Chrome. Still no seller IDs.
The only way I can get seller IDs to appear is to use a User-Agent spoofing browser extension and have it switch to ChatGPT or Xbox. No Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera user agents work at all.

Delete all cookies for all sites
No, not all sites -- just eBay! Deleting all cookies is not necessary at all, and may not actually work if a particular cookie is stuck or corrupt. Plus, deleting all cookies will require you to sign back in everywhere else. Don't do that unless you absolutely need to.
If clicking on the lock icon in the address bar while on eBay does not allow you to clear just your eBay cookies and site data, go to your browser settings to manage cookies and find the individual eBay cookies by name and manually delete them.

So is this just another silly plan for ebay to make money? Are they getting ready to start charging sellers to have their ID or store name show up in the search results?

I understand what deleting all cookies does vs. site-specific. Deleting ALL is the easiest way to be certain. Logging back into websites isn't a big deal IMO.
Besides, I had previously tried deleting JUST ebay.com cookies via the settings section, which did nothing.

Clearing cookies/cache is meaningless for the large population of ebay buyers (not to mention it doesn't even work as of today) It may help 'you' since you saw it here, but again, meaningless as very few will know/see this. (if it even works, mine all worked fine yesterday, today, Chrome and Edge- now just showing 'seller'.

I'm seeing the same thing in both FireFox and Chrome (tested both logged in to 2 different accounts and in incognito mode).
Every single result I saw also had the "shop with confidence" tag line (I went as deep as page 15 with 60 per page results) even ones like this that don't exactly inspire confidence with that price and 0 feedback and every possible sort option (Best Match, Price + Shipping etc) also still displays this way.
devon@ebay kyle@ebay elizabeth@ebay is this a test/slow rollout that is working as intended or a technical issue?
Hey @valueaddedresource! This is a known sitewide issue and our Tech team is working on a fix. There is an open ticket under ALERT15350. We will let you and others know once it has been resolved.
EDIT: @valueaddedresource I just heard back from the Product team and this is a test that is currently being ran.

For most users the cookies and cache will update on their own, if not right away, then eventually -- unless a cookie is blocked or corrupt. Manually erasing the cookies just speeds up the process if you notice there is a problem.

continuing from my previous post:
I also cleared complete disk, used both Edge signed in, Edge signed out and Chrome (never signed in) and ALL show it still. As stated by the blue, it's a 'test' which means it will stay as the following is what I believe:
Ebay wants buyers to buy from "eBay" and the 'individual' seller name is meaningless.

A test, really? So this is why my older account with 58,000 items is doing the same amount of dollars today that my new account with 500 items is doing and this search is not a problem on. Why must sellers suffer with low to no sales because of these tests?

I've been buying here since the 90's and I don't EVER remember 'knowing' a sellers name to worry about who the listing is from. If I wanted to 'buy more' of the same from someone I purchased from (and I do it all the time) I simply go to 'my purchases'. If I think that seller has 'other things' that I want to be sure I buy from them, I would look at 'my purchases' and click 'see other items' or see their store.
I really don't think this would make any difference, and it just started 2,3 days ago so you can't compare your 'stores' yet.

Thanks for the info, Devon. What a terrible change to test!
Anybody seeing this test, please use the feedback link on the search page to let the product team know how bad this is. It can appear different ways in the form of a ? icon, a tell us what you think link, a submit feedback link, etc. Look around and you'll find it off to the right usually at the top or bottom of the page.
