Suddenly loading photographs produces an 'Image Error' and does not load into the listing

In revising an item already listed I wanted to add newer photographs.When I attempted to do so an "Image Error'' warning appeared asking for the photos to be removed as they appeared to be corrupted and genuine photographs should be used.Any ideas?
