Spring Seller Update - CANNOT open and read downloads!

I have complained about this for 2 years.

Spring Seller Update - Item specifics - Download Details.

Download into my desktop computer running Chrome browser - click to open download and am presented with nothing but a garbled mess.  

When will ALL eBay sellers be able to actually read this important information????

Why not simply go back to as it was in years past when clicking a link brought the information page directly front and center?

A different day it is. Hope they get it fixed but not going to hold me breath.

Sad that the only downloads - regardless of origin - that Chrome can no longer open are those attached to Seller Updates.

I've used Chrome for 10 years and up until 2 years ago I had no issue with eBay downloads. 

Very sad for all sellers using Google Chrome.  

Wait, could this be trickle down from the fight eBay had with Google a couple of years ago?

I truly appreciate your help.

Unfortunately I also cannot open and read the monthly financial reports that eBay sends.  They too appear as word salad.  I've reported that several times to no avail.  At least on the financial info I found a work around by individually printing the payouts sent to my bank.

I am not the only seller who cannot print the financial reports as others have complained.
