cant swipe left to dismiss old notifications anymore!???????

Why on earth did ebay replace the industry standard "swipe left" to dismiss old notifications in the inbox with now having to 1.click "edit" 2.click the checkbox, & 3. click delete??????? Are you seriously kidding me? 3x the work to dismiss the notif...
