Been using eBay for years and it now won’t update app because it says I need ios16 which I cannot get on my phone.

2 buyers have reported an error message comes up on their screen when they try to pay for items they’ve won by auction. What can I do? Searched all over eBay and PayPal for settings, but to no avail.
