I hate everyhting about e-bay and paypal right now

I bought an 18 pound bag of dry cat food. Tracking number shows up on the day it was supposed to be delivered to me except one thing, the seller gave e-bay a fedex tracking number and said it was for my package of catfood. According to fedex that tracking number was for flowers and didn't have my name or my address on it. That package got delivered somewhere and there's a photo and it isn't my house and they are tiny boxes that couldn't ever hold an 18 pound bag of catfood. But I have no recourse with E-bay because it shows up as delivered.  There's no customer service here...there's no one to talk to..everything is fine and dandy to them because it shows up as delivered. So I go to PayPay...they will take care of me right???? No..No they didn't. Wanna know how far they looked into it? All they did was ask the seller....that's it. They never called fedex to see what was in the box. The box on the step couldn't hold a 3 pound bag of cat food much less an 18 pound one. So I'm giving 2 middle fingers to E-Bay and payPal and you both can go F yourselfs.

Is that the seller from China, dropshipping from Walmart?

You need to get a letter from FedEx stating that the package was not addressed to you and use it to appeal the case.

The significant issue that urgently needs to be addressed, is a cat that needs to be supplied with dry cat food !

Any time there is a tracking number that shows DELIVERED, even if it not to you or intended for you, any eBay claim you make for "Item not Received" is going to be a FAIL.  It is automated.  So get the "item not received" out of your mind, and start thinking FRAUD/FAKE TRACKING SCAM.  

If you go to PayPal (if you paid that way) and insist on INR, or your credit card company and insist on INR, you will lose those, too.  Once you seek redress someplace else, eBay will (according to the user agreement) absolve themselves of any obligation to help you.  The claims you make elsewhere will be sent to eBay and they will respond with the same (fake) tracking information. 

There are a few options:  

Contact eBay through one of their social media platforms.  Regular customer service that you get in a call back or chat are useless.  They are in foreign based call centers and all they can do is regurgitate "tracking shows delivery"  and so sorry.  The social media  people are very familiar with the scam, US employees,  and do have the authority to help you if they so choose.  Mostly they require written documentation from the carrier, which from FedEx is often impossible to obtain. .... win win for eBay, not so good for you. At this point, your photo from FedEx may help. 

Try this one for instance. Use the blue message button at the top of the page, and explain the situation and ask for their assistance.  By now they know FedEx won't help you, and they may already have your seller on the proverbial guillotine.

Another option used by some to 'beat the scammer and the eBay bot' at their own game is to file an "Item not described" claim instead.  Missing parts or pieces should work.  The seller has to give you a return shipping label, or refund.  If nothing happens after three days, return to the case and escalate i.e. ask eBay to step in.  If you have to return something. send back a box of air. 

This has been going on here for years, and though I don't sell here anymore it is annoying to see this same thing posted here day after day.  I have been keeping track of these since Jan. 1.  These are from this board only, but someone did point out to me there are more posted on other boards as well.  

While waiting for eBay to respond, you may wish to contact your card company.  Do not file a claim, but ASK what evidence they require, so you can be prepared.   Been saving this up for the end of the month, but I am going to show you that you are not alone.

why would he lose with the credit card company? They actually investigate these claims. If the buyer presents  documentation, e.g. photo of his home and from Fedex, the buyer will get his money back. Especially if he also provides documentation about his unsuccessful attempts with PP and ebay. CC companies are more serious than PP and ebay.

 

Even walmart. I ordered just recently something, the proof of delivery was a photo of the package in front of my door. I live in an apartment building so all doors are similar. But there was a small difference. Walmart didn't even try to dispute that and during the chat issued a credit and also gave me a coupon $15 OFF for purchases over $35.

During too many credit card chargebacks with your banking with the same situation over and over...the bank might not help a buyer. If you looked at some of "feedbacks left for others"....there is a pattern.

I won a chargeback from a buyer using a photo of a Barbie Christmas scene as documentation and put tracking of an item in as well.

He would lose a chargeback if he claims ITEM NOT RECEIVED.  He would likely NOT lose the chargeback if he claims FRAUD/FAKE TRACKING SCAM and provides the evidence needed.

Generally speaking, FedEx won't give out letters.   eBay knows this, and likely why they require it.  Additionally, the OP has already gone to PayPal, so it lets eBay off the hook for the scam.

@shibby_jk You should really reconsider the kind of feedback you typically like to leave; you come across as unpleasant at best. It could hurt your buying opportunities with some sellers in the future.

The feedback I usually give is "Perfect" why in the world would you expect me to say something nice in negative feedback? Don't you understand what negative feedback is? It's for the scum that sells us crap. It's for the sellers that rip us off. It's for the sellers that bait and switch. It's for the sellers that give out fake tracking numbers.  Is this sinking in yet?

If you make offers, sellers check your feedback left for others.  Your feedback suggests that you may not be a savvy buyer or have consistent troubled transactions which can lead to being added to a seller's blocked buyer list. 

All that neg feedback certainly leads to less deals when you really want to make one with a particular seller.

Your problem is in choosing the wrong sellers from whom to purchase! 

 

Do you check their locations?
Do you check their other listings?
Do you look at their feedback? 

 

A buyer who has had as many negative experiences as you have had (dropshipping, fake tracking) clearly isn't doing his/her own due diligence.

Not playing these games.


The last time I ran into this I simply opened a return case for "Item Not as Described"
Seller clearly has a sense of humor, well so do I.

In this case the item was delivered but you didn't receive your bag of cat food.
In fact you received nothing, hence since that is definitely not the bag of cat food you ordered it is "Not as described."

I can't remember if the seller in my case accepted the return but I know they never issued a return shipping label, if however they had issued a label I would've sent back exactly what I received (which is nothing) inside a little box just large enough to hold the label. Again however the seller didn't follow through on my return case so a few days later I was able to "Ask ebay to step in" and I was issued a refund.
