Getting more and more discouraged over the boards........ and with no responses @shelia@ebay

Should those of us who feel that way, just quit posting?  Granted,  I will go thru withdrawal....but perhaps best for me in the long run?  Perhaps the thought is we will get used to it?  And certainly new folks that come along won't know how lacking the present is from the past.....  just chalk it up to another disappointment in ebay?

I thought the revamping was going to be just an improvement on the previous format, not remove it and  create a worse format.  😕

But a couple of things jump at me..........

#1 System status is buried on the Community home page........perhaps several years from now people will look there......but it has always been on the Announcement board.....and that's where people WILL look....could it be added there?  Consistency is very important in this type of endeavor as most people are intermittent users. 

#2 Still nothing on the list for ebay delinated threads.....i.e. an ebay employee has answered, I tried to explain on this thread........

#3 My eBay link will live under the dropdown menu where your profile picture is, in the top right hand corner

does that mean there will be a live bell to show when sales happen?  If it's just a link to S/H........that does (me) no good........  I want to know when I'm getting sales, while I'm on the boards........

#4. Improve the notification feed so it’s easier to see which messages have not been read yet

I'm not sure what you mean by notification feed.  Right now on the board page, where the list of posts are seen, when one reads a post, the post title on the board page goes from Bold to light...  It should (used to) go to Bold again when a new post is added to that thread......indicating that there is an unread message there......it doesn't do that presently, it remains light. 

At the same time......that post, with newly posted message/s should come to the top of the board.......  all other posts should begin falling down the list as interest (posts) wanes.  

All I have time for, right now.

One more thing.........there are several posts on this board.......which talk about stuff that needs to be done/changed.......

The posters have no idea if you've seen those posts, since there is no reply.......  you might peruse them and at least give an indication that solutions are being considered or that they should do this or that if they've misunderstood something........

"1.  Bring recently posted threads to the top of the board. Too hard to follow where you might have left off on the thread if you step away. Need to add clarity so it’s easier to follow posts in the a thread. Sorting, in general, needs improvement. New responses to posts should appear at the top of the boards and not just new boards."

This is the core feature that makes the eBay community engaging for both the people seeking answers and for those that are trying to help in providing said answers.

On the flooding thing..........have Khoros check the time it takes to load/strip out the html.......  I know I  tend to click reply right away........and that may be causing the intermittency of the problem.

That and not being taken to "last post read" make it impossible to have any meaningful interaction with the boards.

@dhbookds I promise that the Community board will get better. We were in a position where we had to rip everything apart and start from scratch in order to make it better. We've already crossed off a lot of things on the list and we have some more changes coming soon. Keep in mind that we're a small team and very much stretched thin but want nothing more than to bring a great Community experience for everyone.

#1 on your list, I'll definitely consider doing this
#2 I've taken screenshots of all the pages of the old Community before we made the change. I need to dig through those screenshots so I can get a better understanding of what you're asking

#4 I'm trying to figure out how to get the notification feed to read more like an inbox so you can see which messages haven't been read yet.

As far as your last point on your list, there's a fix coming soon

This one has been such a tricky one to resolve. I'll ask your question in the ticket and will bring it up when I meet with them next.
