Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Thank you for helping us catch those bugs! While we did work hard to make sure we caught any issues before we released the new changes to the Community, there might be some issues that we didn’t catch. If you find any issues, please post them only here. The Community team will be actively monitoring this post and we’ll work as fast as we can to get them resolved. No need to @ mention us, if you post here.

Be sure to include links to the pages, screenshots, which browser you’re using and other relevant information you can share.

Update as of 03/05: Thanks for your feedback! I'll be tracking updates here.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

The boards are so bright I have to wear shades!   😎

Seriously,  the white is near blinding there is so much of it.  Do the subject and reply boxes have to be so big?

The navigation is going to take some time to get used to.  Hope the newbies don't get discouraged just trying to ask a question in the appropriate category.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

We should have seen it coming when they rolled out the latest iteration of the "private message" feature.

It's worse than I had ever imagined, though.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Can no longer see by bold/not bold which notification feed notices that I have read/not read.  Now have to look at the time/date stamp to think about it.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Have tried to get more per screen to see by reducing the resolution.  Waste of time.

Text gets smaller.  More white space.

If you have an ad blocker, try adding a custom rule, like this:

community.ebay.com##.custom-hero.magenta

In addition to the magenta version, there is also a teal header version you may want to suppress as well.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Now...is this going to be like all of the "new & improved" pages in our accts - purchase history page, watch page, bidding page...

You know...once "improved" they will never go back because IT'S iMpRoVeD!"

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

I had to reduce my browser setting on my 1024 monitor to 67% just to see more than two posts. Of course, I need a magnifier to read the text.  But at least itsy bitsy is a visually more comfortable composition.  Was this layout designed for desktop monitors over 2000 wide?

I came to a thread from notifications, but could nether kudo nor start a reply. Error message.

  1. We can no longer see who last answered a post. If answered by a knowledgeable member, I don't need to respond. If answered by the OP, then they had additional questions or info.
  2. Can no longer tell whether staff has responded to a post.

  3. No more quick look on avatars. Now have to click open a new window to see if poster is newbie or seasoned, and then from there, still have to click listings to see if they are posting on the correct site.

Oh, please don't make us fight this one again..........it took over 6 months to get it back once.........  We really need it.......or just very little point in Blues answering the threads.......few of us will ever know.

Uh...Y-E-A-H!!!!!

Well...these boards being this messed up, maybe I will not be on it half as much and actually get more work done...LOL!!!  16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Maybe I should thank them like I thanked them for "fixing" our purchase history page...now my purchasing here is down by about 80% because of that "fix" of only seeing 25 item on a page at a time instead of 100 items.  It really did cut down on my buying habits...hey...my wallet thanks them...THANK YOU FOR YET ANOTHER "FIX!"  LOL!!! hurryagain_0-1612593745816.gif

Does the share post really need to be there?  Can that be put over in the arrow? Takes up to much room. Do people actually use that button?

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

This new format is so bad that not even @eburtonlab and @shipscript can help us fix this mess.

...And that is saying alot!

Yes, I was thinking ad blocker will have to be the way to go.  Thanks for the help!

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

- There's a huge amount of wasted space. The line spacing is huge. The banner on top is close to 1/3 the screen. The titles are huge. The user names are huge. The buttons are huge.

At the same time, the text font of the actual content of the post is small...? The content; the most important part of the post, is the hardest part to read....?

All the white background, with so much wasted space and such a small font, is extremely jarring.

Typically interface improvements require *less scrolling*, not *more scrolling*. It should be *increasing* the readability of what we could see on the screen.

Right now, it's hard to find each post, harder to read each post, harder to look at.

Often times now as you scroll down there will only be THREE posts on a full page? This means posts will scroll off the first page faster than ever, and it'll be harder for any postings to get visibility.

I don't know how anyone could have thought this was an upgrade. It honestly feels as this update was done to harm the community platform, rather than help it.

And the fact that there is more white on this page than there is in a 100 pound bag of white rice?

Guess you can't quote anymore, either.

I can quote, but does not mean that I like anything about this new view😐
