Couldn't access Community - Too Many Requests

I don't know if anyone has had this happen before but for the past two days I couldn't access the community boards.  It just gave me a white page with "too many requests" coming up at the top of the white page.  When it's slow I like to browse the boards to see what is going on.  I didn't have much to do until my shipment arrived so I just browsed the last couple days.  I learn so much on here and try to stay up to date on what's going on.  I was shocked to get the page notification.  I guess it was saying to take a break...lol   Anyone else ever get this?

Yes, I had that all day yesterday, its ok now. Seems to have been an Ebay server glitch.

Thank you for the quick response.  Nice to know it wasn't just me.  I was afraid to browse the threads in case it kicked me off again. That's what it did yesterday or I would have looked for other cases.  Have a great day and happy selling!

Hey @wirkaholic! We have been working with Khoros who is the platform that we use to run Community and as of late yesterday everything should be back to working as normal. If yourself or others are still experiencing issues please let us know!

Wish that was the only glitch happening on ebay! It's been a mess.

It sounds like you encountered a "Too Many Requests" error, which occurs when the server detects excessive requests from a user in a short time. This can happen during peak usage or if you refresh the page frequently. It's not uncommon, and others may have experienced it too. If it happens again, consider waiting a bit or clearing your browser cache before trying to access the community boards again.

@steverogers_47

Did someone tell you that you would be employed by eBay and eBay would pay you to post product reviews, write forum posts, or grab orders? This is a scam, and they are setting you up to steal from you. The scammers will earn your trust with fake proof of their system, perhaps even let you withdraw very small payments, then they will tell you that you have to pay them to be able to withdraw more payments.

This is called a task scam or an order-grabbing scam. The fake company might use the name "eBay Mall" or a different name. Either way, it's a scam that has nothing to do with the real eBay.

eBay doesn't pay people to write forum posts, write product reviews, or grab orders. No legitimate company pays for this type of "work."

If the scammers ask you to sign up for a cryptocurrency account, don't do itDon't give them any money; you won't get any of it back. More info: https://malwaretips.com/blogs/ebay-job-scam/
