i almost got dinged and it wasn't my fault!

why is it that "respond to item not received case" shows under "suggested actions" and not "tasks" in the seller hub / dashboard?

 legacylaptops_1-1732131182506.png

furthermore i went back and noticed i also never received a message about this i looked in deleted / archived and theres no message indicating that i had a pending item not received case. for as long as i can remember i used to get this notification under "tasks" along with a message letting me know that a customer opened a case today was the last day to respond to this "case" that i had no idea was even opened.... is this because of the new ebay updates? i am so confused as to why 1 no message at all and 2 why it isn't under "tasks" but instead 3rd on the list of "suggested actions" which i've never paid attention to as it's always the same things on that list that quite frankly wont make a bit of difference whatsoever ...

I agree. Your "suggested actions" is within the Tasks category. Your whole screenshot/section are your "Tasks". Suggested actions is a sub-list of your Tasks list.

Also as a business owner (especially on ebay), I don't think it's a good idea to solely rely on one notification system on something that significant to you. I wouldn't go so far to way it wasn't your fault had you got dinged for this. I get redundant multiple areas that show me if I have a return or INR that needs attention. On top of that, I periodically scan my INR and returns sections at least once at the beginning of each work day.

i can guarantee you i will be missing almost every single INR case ever if i don't receive a message about it as i've only had maybe 5 total this year 3 of which were due to weather / USPS conditions and all 5 of which eventually showed up and was just lost in the mail especially if it's hidden in "suggested" actions if it's only a suggestion that means i can ignore it otherwise it wouldn't be under "suggested tasks" this is the equivalent of your boss giving you a new task to do and putting it  in along side the employees must wash your hands sign after a while you don't see that sign any more because it's not something you have to think about ...

it's hidden under "suggested actions" under multiple things that always sit there with no way to turn off also it's 3rd on the list and is not marked in "red" as an action that needs to be taken care of... as mentioned in the other thread if your boss gives you a new task to do and adds it to the employees must wash hands sign you're not gonna notice it or maybe instead of employees must wash hands sign its a procedure list that has been the same for years so again you DONT LOOK AT IT!  again you're going to miss the thing you are supposed to be doing because you're used to it saying the same thing always and NEVER changing

I have never relied on email notification or the eBay messaging system and even less so with the recent updates to the messaging system. Who knows if the message was ever sent and if so where it ended up. I check my seller hub once a day to see what is happening and go from there.

Why they put the INR in the task area as a suggested action is illogical but it is what it is.

like i said i replied to it and it disappeared , i thought the buyer canceled it but then i got the message this morning to reply to it but  WHERE DO I GO ? its not even under "suggested tasks" anymore it's just non existent besides the link in the message i got this morning ...  as far as checking the seller hub that's pretty much my home page and i see it every day many many times a day that's why it was so easy to overlook it under 2 other items and a 3rd below it in "suggestions"  it's like smelling the same thing every day eventually you go nose blind and don't smell things any more because you're so used to it being there that it's unnoticeable but any ways where do i find this "case" now ? because as far as the hub says it doesn't exist...

I recommend you bookmark the Resolution Center (it's accessible through a variety of ways, but it's easiest to just have a link saved): https://www.ebay.com/sh/resolutions

thanks for this i added "all issues" to my "shortcuts" although i can guarantee i will not be checking it often they better get this fixed so 1 it sends me a message and 2 it shows up under "tasks" and not "suggested actions"
