downgraded by Ebay

Was downgraded by Ebay but expect you to sell more when they limit your listing.  How do you sell more items when they have cut how many items you can list. They also take more out of your sales.  I was downgraded because I had to ccancel some sales because item was damaged.

As others have explained, cancelling transactions are really disappointing and upsetting to buyers.  ESPECIALLY this time of year.

It would take several to cause you issues, so why so much inventory was damaged?  How did that happen?

The first thing I would suggest is that you take a look at ALL your inventory and make sure it is suitable for sale.  More cancellations will get you deeper into trouble and significantly damage the health of your selling account.

Yes, right now you are caught in a catch 22 type situation.  You need to sell more so you can dilute the numbers but you are curbed by the sanctions currently on your account.

All you can do is as I suggested above, take a review of ALL your inventory and try to move more transactions.  Track your progress on the Seller Dashboard.  This is something you should review at a minimum of once a week.

When a seller desires to increase their selling limits, they are allowed to request an increase once every 30 days. Mark your calendar and every 30 days request an increase until you have your selling limit well above anything you think you will ever need. Below is a link to where you can go to ask for a selling limit increase. It is the third option in the link below.

Canceling transactions is the kiss of death for any seller. Ebay hates a disappointed buyer, feeling that they wont come back. If you 'had to cancel some sales' your account is in jeopardy.

Why did you list damaged items? Did you not check the items before you posted the listings?

Yes, they expect you to ship what you sell.  If you don't, things get bad for you.  Why is that eBay's fault?

Yes, if you cancel transactions the buyer didn't ask to cancel you earn defects. Defects lead to an additional 6%  fee and selling restrictions. It's your punishment. I think they don't  want you to keep listing, thus creating a bad buyer experience.

Sell what you have with no more cancelations from your end and earn your way back in.
