Pretty much what the tittle says. Anyone got any ideas what might be my course of action?
This is just absolutely unbelievable. They are refunding the items without returning the items. Laptops that were bought and sold with our personal effort, besides the funds being held by eBay, they are refunding the buyers without letting them return the items.

Yes, we provided a return shipping label, as soon as the next day or same day.

I see that you have experienced a lot of problems over the past year.
You are going to have to pay closer attention to the return cases and return shipping labels.
Make sure that eBay or you are providing a return label within the required timeframe.
What exactly does the tracking say on these eBay refunded Returns? Is the tracking showing returned to your zipcode? If so, have you inquired with your local USPS office in person to make sure the returned items are showing as delivered to your specific address?

Even though it wasn't returned, buyer could be providing a tracking number that shows it was delivered and that's why they got a refund.
Ebay doesn't really care where it gets delivered as long as they have tracking showing it was delivered somewhere.

No, it doesn't show anything. I even called USPS and they told us that there was no packages left at the office or scanned.

Not exactly; the tracking has to show a Delivered status in the City and ZIP of the destination address. The workaround, of course, is that the scam buyer simply needs to send some cheap trinket with tracking that ends at any street address within the addressee's (seller's) City and ZIP, and eBay will see that as a returned item.

I sold a very expensive Canon printer a while back. Unlike your case they did return. BUT the sent back a same model printer that was trashed. I had 65 photos 3 videos of damage sent back. Had photos of the good one I sent. Did not matter to Ebay, they would not even look a the evidence at all. The even sent a bad print head back with it along with many pry marks broken housings and other damage like squirting ink inside the shipping box. A lot of ink. None inside their swap out one though. Lost about a $1000.00 on that one.

Thats awful, but unfortunately Ebay does not accept photos, or videos of items, they can be doctored.

I would have gotten the police involved on that one

An eBay shipping label to the buyer should return the item back to the seller. Don't understand what is doing wrong. A seller has so many days to do this. Trying to contest the return does nothing.
Never let a buyer escalate the return. You usually lose.
Are you getting a number of "freight forward" addresses? Those can be a problem for a return.
I suggest looking at eBay ID where what country they live in...and the address such as Delaware or Florida or Oregon. Would I personally sell a computer "freight forward" to someone in another country? Nope.
Need to check where the buyer lives by their eBay ID...not the address. just my own opinion.

eBay even flat out TELLS you not to refund until you have received the returned item, IME.

Did ebay require you to pay for a return shipping label for the buyer?
12-30-2023 05:05 PM
Yeah that’s what I was curious about. If they refused to provide a free shipping label it might have really messed this up where ebay stepped in and just refunded.

Pretty sure you have to provide a free shipping label if buyer makes not as described claim. Could be wrong in your case and not sure if you issued buyer a free label.

Post 16 stated by the OP that they DID issue a return label, same day or next day of 'return case' being opened.

OK, if that happened the items needed to be shipped back BEFORE the refund.
