As a parent and grandparent, I have a real problem with this. Listing children’s toys and porn magazines in the same store is unacceptable. Did a search for a particular Barbie doll. Found one. Considered purchasing it. Looked to see what else the seller had for possible savings on multiple items shipping. I was disappointed to find among more Barbie dolls there were human porn magazines with extremely graphic covers. If ebay is allowing and promoting this mix of children’s toys and porn, I can’t sell here any more.

Yes I understand that. It is the reason for me saying we will have to see.

On a side note I thought the OP did message the seller ?
Evidently not. He said I was the only person to contact him. And he realized the seriousness of his error. Once again, he was mortified and extremely apologetic. Especially to the posters on this thread who were offended. Now it hardly seems appropriate to have his listings taken down and let him rack up some nice policy violations over an honest mistake now, isn't it?
I guess I don't automatically assume all sellers are nefarious scammers.

You can't be serious?

There are probably at least a handful of us here who would go to bat for the seller and protest any sanctions against his or her account. An honest mistake should not be that costly, and I believe that is what this was. The magazine ads are down and I hope it was the seller who removed them and he was able to relist in the proper category.

This is great news! Thank you so much for doing that! And mostly, thank you for reporting back! Thank you thank you thank you!

Yep. You’d think it would be pretty cut and dried with the first few posts LOL. The magazines were obviously in the wrong category, no matter what anyone’s judgments are or what the intention of the seller was. Period. And the fact ebay CS admitted that they don’t have the staff to monitor for that right now does put the responsibility on the rest of us sellers and buyers. So my original concern was valid and I had every reason and concern to post the question. I had no control over the comments that followed other than to keep answering them. Not sure what else I could’ve or should’ve done other than what I did. 🐵

As you can see in my original post, I did not contact the seller or I wouldn’t have put “where to report?” In the subject line LOL. I reported it through the link the second or third commenter gave me. As I’m sure you noticed, I had to repeat myself many times throughout the thread answering the same question.

You did exactly the right thing. If there is a question about listings, it can usually be explained by contacting the seller, but in this case the issue made that more difficult. My "recent searches" is now showing some items that wouldn't normally be there, but that will time out in the next week or so and doesn't really concern me.
I hope we can all take away from this long thread that electronic communication can be easily misunderstood. No matter what our differences there are some very considerate and helpful sellers in this group. It would be fantastic if we all could get to know each other a little better and be less contentious when issues arise. Really glad this worked out.

You are so right on! And thank you! I definitely learned a lot through this and very much appreciate everyone who jumped in to help. I was truly lost on what to do because, as you said, we’re all different and have different experiences. We really are all in this together. Again, thank you so much!

i should have heeded the warnings throughout the thread...lol...i made the mistake of searching the item number and looking at the listings--besides getting better look at a magazine cover than i really wanted, the sidebar "suggestions for you" section of my search page is now filled with Barbie dolls...lol

@tellmemama wrote:FYI: to all the people who eagerly rushed to judgement. I just got two messages back from the seller in the OP. As I suspected along with a few others here, it was a mistake. He listed using sell similar and forgot to change the categories. And he is MORTIFIED. He was grateful for the heads up (which nobody else bothered to offer) and also wants to apologize to everyone who may have been offended. He was confused how the listings went through since he told me they are usually auto-flagged until the category corrections are made. Since I have zero experience with the adult only category, I have no reason not to believe him.
How about you?
Thanks for posting. This is what I expected because the seller who had only a handful of items that should absolutely be in the Adult Category and they all were except one. It made no sense to have 6 things in Adult and 1 in a "normal" Category.
They did have a couple of slightly questionable magazine in the regular category but those did not have anything other than guys not wearing shirts (nothing graphic on the covers) so were probably eBay legal.

You must not have paid enough attention. Believe me one of those covers was about as filthy as it gets and not Ebay legal. Just glad the guy removed them from regular search.

The cover you mention is the cover I mentioned, it definitely belonged in the Adult Cat, the seller had the other similar ones in the Adult Cat.

“I don't think anyone rushed to judgement as I doubt anyone thought 100% positive the seller did it on purpose.”
Didn’t you say earlier in the day “It is yet another filthy Ebay seller allowing young people to see gay sex. He should be banned from Ebay.”? That sounds like a 100% rushed judgment.

That's all I was saying. If some posters aren't going to read the whole thread, at least re-read your own. Reading is fundamental after all...
And so no one else gets offended I made sure the gif is a woman.
