What to do here

I have a quick question.

How to respond to a beligerent and mean buyer. Have me in tears so mean.

Been a pain before but nothing like this.

Not sure how to proceed. Even sent me several emails today each being this way.

Does he want a return, did he open a case? If not, ignore and block.

@ellenshideout

Is it an actual buyer (who already made a purchase) or a potential wannabe buyer?

If the former, respond to the message with "if you are unhappy, please open a return request and I will accept the return."

If the latter, add to your BBL and don't respond. Once they're blocked, you won't get messages from them as the messages will be blocked.

Sorry to hear this. Dealing with the public can be a challenge. Before i can offer advice, need to understand the particulars of what you’re dealing with.

Does not want a refund. Far to soon to refund. He purchased last time only 4 days ago and was mailed the next day so 3 days ago. Keep getting angry why is it taking so long? I told him days ago with a different order that he needed to wait a little longer and if it did not arrive please let me know. He is I am not sure what to call it, stuff mailed USPS taking x amount of days is NOT their fault. I am sick as a dog and this is not helping anything either.

Mailed by USPS so tired cant think of their 1st class. And he lives a long ways away. He has two orders outstanding the current one, and one from yesterday that went out yesterday. Will block him from any further purchases for sure.

I would just tell him that you can't control the USPS & point him to the Tracking.  Just ignore whatever histrionics he's throwing your way.  If he's actually being abusive to you, you can report the messages, but since he's an active buyer, you won't stop getting them.

Dear jerkbuyer,

I mailed your item the day after you purchased it.  You can find your Tracking information here (insert link).    I will keep my fingers crossed that it gets to you quickly, but I did my part by mailing it immediately, but unfortunately I cannot control the USPS or weather across the country.

Best Regards,

@ellenshideout

Based on your comment about first class and the items you've sold, I'm guessing you ship in an envelope with stamps and no tracking.

That can be a problem with an impatient high-maintenance buyer.

I'd just tell him that it's shipped, going from Iowa to (whatever state he's in) and with weather and typical postal delays, it can take longer than we'd like.

Oh, my answer was based on thinking there was Tracking.  If they use an ESE or plain envelope, that's a different story.

The one that was from 4 days ago had tracking since it was for 3 banknotes. I do tracking sometimes depending on the order and order size. USPS has been terrible picking up tracking ESE at times. Sometimes lucky if 1/2 do. But I will reply as others have said. I have family I send things to cards mostly 1 hour from where he lives so have seen how long it can take. Ty for the advice.

Sent a reply to the buyer just as other in this post have said to do.

He replied 2 minutes ago reiterating how long it takes to be delivered has nothing to did with USPS. Starting to wonder if he is on drugs or something. How long USPS takes to deliver is 100% on them.

He is still being rude I wont repeat his exact words this time. Worst email yet.

Wish eBay has a report buyer for this reason, but only ones listed does not follow this situation.

Just some advice from someone who has had to deal with this a bit. Do not allow him to push you around, show no emotion. He's some incel getting his jollies by being rude and abusive. Now he's just trying to neg you by discounting anything you say, even if he's being ridiculous - it's an old trick to try to beat you down. These guys are so transparent - just discount everything he says and stick to business. The last guy who did this to me I told him straight off to just stop it, there was no necessity for this kind of behaviour, and he actually backed off and we were able to resolve the difficulty. I'm sorry you're going through this, though. Stay strong!

Did you use tracking?

The only response at this point (and you don't need to do even that) would be the USPS tracking number.

Block them now.

You will continue to get Messages for 30 days after your last Message, because you are in a transaction.

I would also suggest not opening any more of their Messages, they are getting their jollies by bullying you.

I would also suggest when this is all over, changing the name of your account to something less obviously female.

I have another account with a feminine name and it is amazing how much more respect I get when I post using this apparently masculine avatar.

Yea many sellers learn the hard way that you need to have to develop a thick skin to be an online seller. There’s a lot of crazies out there. But crazies with money to spend.
