I order bubble wrap several times a year and it seems that there is a real lack of different suppliers on here. Any the ones that are here, charge way more. I needed some of the pink anti-static kind and ordered it from SupplyHut like I have many times in the past.
I ordered a 350ft roll, and rather than the normal roll I get from them, I got a cardboard box with 2 smaller rolls in it. It didn't seem like the normal amount, so I unrolled one of the rolls and came up with 125ft. Both rolls appeared to be the same so I got shorted by 100ft.
I tell them that, and they tell me to return it. I explain that I want the 100ft or a credit. They ask how I determined it was short. I told them I actually measured it.
They again tell me to return it.
I open a return request and they have ignored me for over a day now.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

You mean this supplyhut with the 2 star reviews?
I think I'd rather take my chances dumpster diving.

hmm...never bothered looking them up on google. Their ebay feedback seems alright...tried to figure out why there isn't mention of shortage on there.

They approved the return label. I sent them a message showing a picture of the box and the weight. I said in the message that I will weigh the next package before I open it (I had ordered more bubble wrap from them). Since the whole package weighed 3lb 11.6 oz, and 350ft of their bubble wrap should weigh about 3lb 8 oz, if the package weighs the same, I'm going to assume its short.
Apparently, the seller will claim some is missing from the return and issue a partial refund. With this much documentation, I'll be arguing with ebay if they try that.

The big warehouse stores sell them for fairly cheap. You always get exactly what you buy and they are pretty cheap.

I ordered some bubble wrap last month - I had a heck of a time finding a seller who's feedback didn't reflect them shorting orders.
To our new poster welcome - but the OP is entitled to what he paid for and a good Ebay seller would have apologized profusely and sent him an extra 125' roll - 100 that he was shorted and 25 for his inconvenience in the hopes the OP would leave good feedback.

Exactly what that seller will do. You will get a 50% refund as sellers with "free returns" are allowed to make the deduction. Had the same exact problem with this seller. They shipped me two 125' rolls in a box as well.
Contacted them about the shortage. They replied with the "return for refund".
When they refunded a statement was included in the resolution center:
The item arrived back in a different condition than what was described. The package came back completely destroyed. Half the item arrived back.
The refund shortage was appealed to eBay. eBay paid the shortage. 1st strike against us to be flagged as "serial returners". The seller also sells as zoomXXXXX You may notice the pages look alike, and ship from same location.
Once you are refunded you will not be leaving any less than positive feedback. Well, you may leave it but you can expect it to be auto-deleted.
Ordered some from another seller. It was also short. Just went ahead and took the loss this time to avoid strike 2. Get enough strikes, and you lose your MBG coverage as a bad buyer making poor choices.

So ebay is basically telling me: Sell 50 USB cables, ship 35 of them. Hope the buyer doesn't count. If they do complain, have them send them back. When they arrive, say that some are missing from the order and give a 50% refund.
Seems like an investigation needed to be done... Maybe get Rob Cockerham involved (runs a site called "how much is inside")

That's what you can do if you offer "free returns".
How long you could continue to get away with it may be another story.
We are not privy as to how eBay monitors sellers that do that.

So far ebay's attempts to make the return process fair for both parties has just created more problems. It's like playing whack a mole.

Thank you for bringing this issue to the fore. I purchased 700 ft. from the same seller (SH) a couple weeks ago. When it arrived, it just didn't look right. As of today, I still not have used any of it. Thanks to your post, I pulled the rolls.
There were 4 rolls delivered with each roll was between 15 and 15.5". After selecting the largest roll, I checked the the roll. Sure enough it had only 112 ft. If all of them had the approximate same amount, it appears I was shorted approximately 250 ft! It's too late for me to do anything about it because the roll I checked has been broken down into rolls of 10 sheets.
They lost this buyer forever.

UPDATE:
I got a refund.
I paid $18.46 and they only refunded $9.23.
They also blocked me from purchasing from them.

12 X 240 for 13 at sams has always been most convenient for bubble wrap.

Sleazy but predictable. At least they did you the favor of blocking you. You do not have to worry about accidentally buying from them in the future.
