Shorted on purchasing bubble wrap

I order bubble wrap several times a year and it seems that there is a real lack of different suppliers on here. Any the ones that are here, charge way more. I needed some of the pink anti-static kind and ordered it from SupplyHut like I have many times in the past.

I ordered a 350ft roll, and rather than the normal roll I get from them, I got a cardboard box with 2 smaller rolls in it. It didn't seem like the normal amount, so I unrolled one of the rolls and came up with 125ft. Both rolls appeared to be the same so I got shorted by 100ft.

I tell them that, and they tell me to return it. I explain that I want the 100ft or a credit. They ask how I determined it was short. I told them I actually measured it.

They again tell me to return it.

I open a return request and they have ignored me for over a day now.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

They will eventually have to respond.  So, I would not be too concerned about the return.

On the other hand, using the sellers name to shame them on the boards is against the rules.

I use a very reliable source here on Ebay. They only have clear & green anti-static and are a little more expensive but, are very reliable and send quality product every time.  Send me a private message if you would like their name.

Are you sure they might not be sending another box with a 100' roll? Maybe they ran out of the 350' roll and have split the shipment.  Have you checked your packing slip?

-----------

It doesn't sound like it, since

they told the OP to return the shipment.

I explain that I want the 100ft or a credit.

You're unlikely to get either, and you're entitled to neither. What you're entitled to is returning it on the sellers dime

Someone here a while back posted about short bubble wrap. Wonder if it was the same seller or supplier?

I didn’t report it but have also had it happen. I too received two boxes of bubble wrap. I measured and it was 100’ short.... imagine that.  When I emailed them they sent me another box.

I prefer it it on the roll as I hang it above my packing station.

If memory serves me correctly, it was.

Ive made it a normal thing to measure my bubble wrap now. I don't think I have yet to get an order from MULTIPLE sellers that actually measures out. Not talking about 10 or 20 feet either, but like you described, 100s of feet short. However, never have I had an issue with get credit for what was short. They seem to almost immediately compensate me with a sizeable amount of refund credit or send me an entire new shipment for free. Honestly they seem to do it so quick (likely to avoid any neutral or negative feedback) that it's like they know they are shorting the buyers and the few that notice, are outweighed by the profits from those who don't lol.

And sadly it sounds like it's working for them too.

I've never purchased from that seller and I've never been shorted.

Is the seller you mentioned the cheapest? I almost never buy from the cheapest. I do look for bargains, but then I line up the ones in my price range, look at their feedback and very often will pay an extra buck or two for the one with the best record. So far, no problems.

Also, my supplier sometimes ships in two separate boxes (that sometimes arrive a day or two apart). It's sometimes cheaper to do it that way to avoid the oversized-box rates.

Trouble is, this was like $18, the next price up for 350ft is close to $30. The other seller at about the same price is just another name for the same biz.

Hmm...I bought the same item from the same seller you mention.  Just two days ago I started on the second roll from that purchase and thought to myself, wow that first roll went fast.  I did not measure the rolls when they arrived, so have no way to know if the order was short.  Guess I will be looking for a new seller.

Pink weighs a bit more than white, but the roll of 125ft weighed 20.3 oz without the core

Weigh 6 sheets and it should be about 0.9744 of an ounce.

the 175ft roll should weigh 28.5 oz

I've been using the same vendor for probably at least 5 years now. Never been shorted, and lightning fast delivery. I can order on a weekend, and it's on my deck on Tuesday. Many times, it's delivered before I even get the shipping confirmation email. If you ask me, that seller's FB is horrible. There's no way I would order anything from them.
