Return request. How to handle it tactfully

I had a pair of shoes at buy it now. I was sent an offer and I accepted the offer. I didn’t ship the shoes out until the  day after accepting the offer.  I sent the buyer an email saying usps pickup your shoes this morning . I hope you enjoy you pair of shoes. The next day I get a return request. Stating they did not want to buy the shoes they just wanted to bid on them. I have no return on the listing as they are brand new shoes. I did try to see if I could reroute the shoes back to me on usps website but it’s not eligible.

And they put I did not authorize Ebay to use my credit card. I simply just places  a bid on these shoes. I do not want them.

These are the reasons buyer can choose on eBay. Which did they choose?

@jvbarnett  if it's still at the post office tell them to hold it for u, if not, tell the buyer to refuse the package

Re: Return request. How to handle it tactfully

 Personally I would accept the return which requires them to pay to ship it back.  Since they already mentioned not authorizing the payment, I would expect a payment dispute if I denied the return.  Of course, your decision.

If I did that if able I would keep my original shipping to.

@jvbarnett

My first thought was package intercept, but now I think I'd accept the remorse Return, too, since it's been opened. I find that if an item sells once, it will again. Get those great shoes back to reprice and relist for the right buyer. Good luck.

Re: Return request. How to handle it tactfully

Tell them to refuse the package (it will be returned to you at no additional cost); when you get it back give them a refund. And put the on your blocked buyer list ASAP, if you haven't already.

If they filed a buyer's remorse return, you should be able to deduct the shipping cost (if you didn't offer "free" shipping or "free" returns, otherwise you would be out the original shipping cost and there would be nothing you could do). They might contact eBay and fight you on it, however, especially if they insist they didn't actually buy it and they didn't "authorize the purchase" or some such nonsense.

if you have already mailed the item take ok the return unless you want them to keep the item and also get a refund.  if it were me I would accept the return and refund the money minus the cost of shipping.

Stating they did not want to buy the shoes they just wanted to bid on them.

( that is by way the best way to insure an auction win, much better than sniping)

The wally mart shoppers.......................

Blocked bidder list for sure.

I agree. I think this will also protect you from future negative feedback as well. (i think)
