I think in my short time on eBay I have run across about 10 to 20 customers who have done this, and only one of them (a repeat buyer) has bought an item after I have painstakingly looked through my inventory just to give them precise measurements of something that they will never buy.
I stopped taking measurements of items about halfway into my first 1,000 listings, because it was slowing me down too much and was causing me to lose motivation in listing items.

Sorry, I don't buy it.
Been reading these boards for years. Items without measurements will surely lead to less sales and more returns. These folks are not leading you astray.

Include measurements - good grief - it's better to be professional about this stuff.

Really didn't expect people to be so immature. Half of you are selling at a loss to appear as though you own a business. Get over it.

My mistake. For some reason I thought you were talking about clothing but now I realize that you didn't say what you were talking about and I didn't look at your listings to see what you sell.

I have stopped even asking for measurements. Most sellers don't reply.
I figure if someone is selling an item of clothing and can't bother to list measurements -- which is vital info, especially when we all know that items are cut differently from brand to brand and even within brands -- then I'm not sure I can trust any representations made in the listing. So I just scroll past.
If listing fast is the goal, to the point of excluding vital info about the product, then do it your own way but know you are missing out on sales.

Okay - you REALLY need to readjust priorities in how you are making your listings.
I looked at a couple of your most recent listings: 'Vintage Dear Santa Christmas Mouse Typewriter Ornament Collectible Made in China' and 'Vintage Ceramic Planter with Rosebud Pattern'. In neither case is there the slightest clue as to what size either one is. They are photographed against a bare white background with no ruler or anything to indicate scale. Both have a huge long AI-generated description that conveys nothing factual and is 85% the same in both cases with only the name of the item plugged in. When the reader gets to the bottom of the text they are no wiser about the item than when they started.
Seriously now: just photograph the item with a ruler to indicate scale. Take some basic relevant measurements. Write a short factual description... and for God's sake take out all that AI rubbish. It is not helping your listings in any way.
So be brief - factual - concise - and your buyers will be happy for it. Good luck.

Generally, no.

I always include measurements no matter what the item is. What I don't understand is constantly getting questions about the size when it is stated in item specifics and description. I'm assuming it is people on eBay mobile that can't find the description tab. I definitely wouldn't buy from someone who didn't have sizes listed.

What you may be saving in time, could be costing you in sales.
Can't relate. Did you know that some of Dali's most famous paintings are about 6 inches wide?
People should enjoy surprises.
Not in online sales, they don't.

Why would you not have garment measurements in the Description?
Have you never heard of vanity sizing?
If the customer asks for measurements and does not buy, be happy.
They decided with more information that the garment would not fit andtherefore did not buy.
And you avoided having a Claim on your account plus the cost of return shipping.

I would bet dollars to donuts that that is EXACTLY what the problem is.
I mean that in my selling account I provide dimensions in both Item Specifics and the description. When someone goes to the trouble of writing to me to ask about a dimension that is already given in the listing then I know that they are making some effort but simply cannot find the details.
The mobile app spends way more time and wastes far too much screen space showing MY buyers listings from OTHER sellers while simultaneously burying large portions of my listing under all that other junk and pushing other data offscreen via needless links.

That rubbish mobile app seems designed to be promote confusion rather than sales.

Simply just provide the measurements. Customers are not your enemy. Provided measurements on all 1665 items that I sold. and shipped - had no pain. Not one ever asked for the size measurements. Hard to judge how big or small and items is from a picture.
See I believe that I am not a seller/ sales person unless I have a happy buyer - Sold for a 43 year career - then I hung up my spurs.. Piddled on eBay as a hobby. Now our young grandson occupies our time - thank God for kids.
