Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

It seems the option to revert back to the original listing tool is gone! I absolutely hate this new listing tool I cannot use it. I have sent so many messages and feedback trying to get them to fix all the problems. This is just awful, I don't know why they do this. Everything is taking me so long.

Sociopaths playing with toys.   We're their toys because we let them.

It is designed for the kidults and their cell phones.  The view is too sprawling and takes to much work to move through with my mouse and is  unintuitive.  I think Ebay wants me to be touching a screen all day long and not a mouse.  I don't work that way.   All the information could be on one screen, but that would be helpful to me using the website, not the kidults on their cell phones.

Maybe I don't need Ebay.  And an alternative that is not a FAANG corporation.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

My 2nd favorite bug.....on a bulk lot (or multiples of a single item for one price) they removed the ability to say how many items in the lot....like qty 5 (so you have 5 lots for sale), 10 items per lot (which you can no longer specify) - which I have used for years.

ADD IT BACK!!!!

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

No time right now to read the entire thread. But I must complain so I can go back to work peacefully.

Why on earth would you nest a bunch of information on a form like this?! The info could all be shown on the page (and I know because the last listing tool did and was just fine!). It takes 2-3x as many clicks to get the information in the listing, and honestly, it increases the chances that I will forget something I wanted to put in there because I am skimming so hard trying to maximize my time.  Dude. Just leave a box underneath it!

I'm not a person that likes to complain every time change is implemented, but I am wondering why they put so much time into changing something that didn't need changed when there are so many other improvements that could be made to ebay.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

when this first started i tried it  and went back, tried it again and went back.  i have not met anyone who thinks this new listing tool is better. I would guess this new tool takes 5-10 time more in time and  forces the sell to accept things that  i do not understand. Payment plan,  and other parts are not easy to understand. before you just put in the plan in English but not a number for several things. why does ebay keep making changes for the better that is a giant step backward like other changes ebay has done. change should be an improvement not a step backward like most of the other changes ebay has made. I think iam about done.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I knew it was coming, I've been forced to the new listing system. I voluntarily tried it very early on for about two weeks and gave feedback when asked to do so but I started getting more and more glitches and reverted back the old system.

Well tonight I can no longer upload all my photos for a listing. I've tried uploading them all at once and only about half show up and the others are there but they're blank, I've tried doing one pic at a time nope, I've tried dragging them and again doesn't work. I'm running macOS Monterey and Safari all up-to-date. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I wish I could revert back but the option isn't there. I guess I'm through listing until they get this straightened out, never had this issue with the old system. Thanks.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I retook the photos for the item I was trying to list last night and successfully uploaded all photos, a glitch maybe, who knows. I'm still not wild about all the dropdown menus but it is what it is. I'll eventually get used to it I guess.

Also the photo editor is dog slow, used to nearly instantaneous.

I tried it ( 3 dots) - they are nowhere to be found. I know this did work in the past but the dots no longer appear. ??

@tink-a-link

Have you tried using the FireFox browser to list and get your photos loaded.

I too am on Mac OS Monterey and had no trouble with loading 12 photos this afternoon using drag-and-drop off my desktop.

I don't know whether switching to FireFox will make a difference (it's my default browser), but it might be worth a try.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I absolutely hate it. I don't understand why eBay insists on constantly "fixing" things that aren't broken. The entire format is a giant eye sore and is clunky to navigate. Also, what happened to the option below quantity for listing the number of items in a lot of it's a lot? Selecting store category is a lot harder now than it needs to be. There's really an absence of quick pull down menus for things that slows the entire process down. Especially bad is the removal of the package weight drop down menu that allowed you to select weight in 1 lbs increments which was great for giving a ranged estimate. You can only type it in now

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

Also, we can't have a secondary store category for our items anymore? That's **bleep**! 90% of my items I sell can easily fit into two categories.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

The new listing tool is awful. It is taking me twice the amount of time to list an item. So much extra clicking.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

At lot of times, these changes (I call them changes, not necessarily upgrades) are forced upon people just because THEY think the changes help the flow or help users.

I don't need the overhelp. Leave me alone. Unless there's a technical reason why the changes are required, changing for the sake of changing is not a good enough reason.

Microsoft also does this....they will move a command from one place to another, with no net gain that I can see other than frustrating users who know have to hunt down where that command lives now.
PS: I STILL use DOS commands.

CITI bank revised their on-line website. They must think people are blind. When making a credit card payment, the YOUR PAYMENT OF $xxxx.xx is successful is displayed in 60pt type. Large enough for people behind you to clearly read. Privacy doesn't matter anymore??

What if Chrysler decided to alphabetize PRNDL....now it's DLNPR. I should be grateful Neutral didn't move.

"Don't worry it will change again by next year, and we will all have to retrain ourselves once again"

"Never ending nightmare"

Once again somebody in the higher up trying to justify their job. Who cares what the sellers want. Typical NORM.

"We should at least have the option to keep it the same if we want"
