Perhaps that is part of the reason for the long roll-out. There are a lot of different reasons why a lot of different folks aren't going to be, ah, enthusiastic about it. Of course, that doesn't really mean too much to some ....

You might go back to the early days of ebay billpoint look at the statements made then and the vision they had for its future.... I'm sure that vision hasn't changed much just took 13 years to get their ducks lined up...

I can almost hear the rumble of an Alibaba/Paypal joint venture...
Joint venture? More likely a takeover of PayPal by Alipay (which by the way is MUCH bigger than PayPal).

Ebay also will find out only 50% Or Less of the sellers will meet Adyens requirements to get a acount with them . I was On adyen's website and found out I don't meet their requirments for a acount .
YOU will not get (or need) an account with Adyen.
Adyen will process the payment for eBay.
How eBay will be dispersing the funds has yet to be revealed.
You have sign up into Adyen . I will not sign up.
No, YOU don't.
eBay is Adyen's client.
Just the same as you don't have to have a PayFlow account now. Currently, right now, eBay checkout allows for Credit Card payments .. directly ... without the buyer having to have a PayPal account. Those payments are processed though eBay's PayFlow account into your PayPal account.
I sell on Etsy.
Etsy is one of Adyen's clients.
I do not need an account with Adyen to sell on Etsy.
Buyers pay Etsy though the Adyen portal ... Etsy disburses the funds to my bank account.
There are couple things you will had do first before you will be able to take Adyen payments , it isn't the same as Etsy . you are talking apples and oranges .it is ebay announcement board about 3 setups to take the payments

Ridiculous!!!!!!
Outside information sources are posted on this board every day including in this very thread.

That is absolute baloney.
The Community Rules state that you may not link to any other SELLING site.
If you have a reputable news source stating that "eBay will have a 60-90 day Rolling Reserve when it transitions to Adyen" .. POST IT!
All of the research that I (and others) have been doing over the past 36 hours has NOT found that quote anywhere.
Stop with the misinformation and fear mongering.
POST your source or say that it is your opinion based on such and such facts.

Exchange rates, will separate bank acounts be required in each country, etc?
Today using PayPal if you want to extract foreign currencies from your PayPal account you would need a bank account IN THAT CURRENCY....located in the country where that is the national currency.
For example, if you are a US seller receiving British Pounds into PayPal you must either convert those funds to US Dollars to withdraw to your US bank account or you can withdraw in UK Pounds and have it deposited into a UK based bank account. The new system will likely work the same way.
Of course only a very small number of US Sellers are selling in currencies other than the US Dollar.

I buy a lawn mower (100 bucks) from wally world, I pay taxes to my state, for a new mower.
5 years later I sell you a used mower for 10 bucks.
There is no tax collection needed.
Your state may be different.
( I need to do 15 years of back taxes... it just slipped my mind... oops )

The announcement doesn't say that you will need to Sign up with Adyen.
It says that eBay will need additional information from sellers.
It says that sellers will have to take some steps to allow these payments.
It does not say what information or what steps.
I would assume it is the same information that I had to give to Etsy (and to PayPal) ...SS# and bank account.
Which any payment processor will ask for.

What does a posting ID have to do with wanting facts?

This is a sellers discussion board for people involved in day to day operations on ebay where active sellers can share views opinions insights and information. Posting IDs are mostly used to disrupt and redirect, but thats just my line of thought others may feel differently...

Everybody is freaking out, for ALL the WRONG reasons.
Having a REAL payment processor, so buyers can pay however they want to pay electronically, is a GOOD THING, something that should have been done a long, long time ago. If you go to any online merchant, Paypal is a payment option, down on the list. It's not a requirement. I should think all the Paypal haters would be doing cartwheels right now knowing Paypal won't have to touch your money anymore!
Ebay is going to start rolling this out soon. They won't start with the golden Chinese, big box and mega sellers, they'll start with US, the little guys. Our holiday selling season will once again be screwed up because we all know this ain't gonna go as planned. There's so much wrong here, so much broken here already. Making a major, MAJOR change is something I just don't think Ebay can handle. I really, really don't. Glitches will happen to any online website when changes are made, that's a given. But with Ebay's past history of breaking things and ignoring real problems while focusing on cosmetics...well...I'm not optimistic.
I truly hope I'm wrong and it all goes off smoothly, but I'm not counting on it.

With all due respect bubbleman, what I sell, how much I sell and under how many different IDs I sell has no bearing on this conversation.
You stated as fact that there would be rolling reserves. By not backing that statement up with a source, it isn't me that is "disrupting and redirecting".
