I suddenly started to see this abomination again on all items, including mine. What's going on, I thought they gave up this demented idea long time ago????

So when you look on your phone is the only photo you see the one eBay hosted photo? If you click the Read More do you see all the other photos that this seller has in their description? I don't have a smartphone so I can't look at anything to determine what mobile sees.
Yes, if I want to see all the photos I have to open the description area. This is on an Android phone btw. I don't buy from the app, I just browse, watch and then if I really want a good look I check on my desktop.

I doubt it's a test......if you can get out of it simply by clearing cookies........more likely a screwup in last nite's maintenance.
@Anonymous can you tell us whether it's a test or not?

I see it on yours. I see it on everyones. I see it on mine. I'm on a computer, Windows 10, latest Firefox.
I just want to say "EBAY I AM NOT YOUR LAB RAT" ....
I am on Firefox as well and I looked at several posters listings and yep, all have the click to see the full description. I switched over to IE and everything is normal. No Click to see button just the description.

Clearing cookies did not help. That or ebay put it right back.
Just how does this enhance the buyer experience?

I asked on the Ebay For Business Facebook page and got a reply that it is a test. Some are seeing it and some are not. There is no way to opt out so I'm guessing if you clear cache and cookies and get out of it that it will only be a matter of time until you are back in it again if you are one of the chosen ones.
I did look at some listings on Edge and could see everything as normal but I didn't look at enough listings to possibly trigger the cookie on my Edge browser.

Either it's a beta test or another major glitch. Either way, I'm not seeing it yet.

You see what?
Click to see descripition you mean?
I'm thinking that's what you mean since you don't want to be a lab rat
If your seeing it then it has to be a test because I'm on windows 10 also but running Edge and not seeing it.
Windows 8.1 and Firefox here and I'm not seeing it either.

Absolutely agree! This will cost us money because people will think we did not put a description in. I also think it is wrong to make people have to change pages to read the description and then go back to see the photos and then back again. When I look at ads for sale I do not want to look at the next page for the description, I want it all on one page. I see they made it difficult for us to tell them how we feel about it. I called Customer Service but do not expect anything to come from it. Why should I put new listings on when people have not been informed of this travesty and will think I don't care enough to add a description.

Yes I'm seeing it too - That is simply unbelievable - People get paid to come up with these ideas?
So all the crapola ebay slings at you (affectionately called flung dung) about creating a proper listing just went out the door, right?
What about the buyer who just buys an item without looking at the description and misses the VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE you have in your item description?? - Thats just problems waiting to happen.
This is the icing on top of a bad month...

I was talking to ebays support while I was checking this thinking that it may be some sort of flag on the website directely related to firefox and was told. "This is not something that is detrimental to the website so our tech support will probably just close the ticket if I were to make one. Clicking on an extra button to see the description is an inconvience but not an actual problem" **bleep**...
I am on my iPhone right now and when I look at the listings there is no click to view description button. Only on my main computer Windows 10 in Firefox.
it would be nice if eBay actually hired some real programers. The ones they have can't code themselves out of a paper bag.

Whatever happened to the announcement where they were going truncate or limit descriptions to something like 800 characters? There was supposed to be a way we could choose what part of the description would show or they would pick for us---random parts.
I never understood the whole thing so I just started making my descriptions even shorter in hopes of being in compliance.
