Seller sent a defective item and then removed my item from ebay

What do I do if a seller sold me a defective item and removed my purchase from eBay?

After I sent him a message letting him know that the item was defective, he answered asking me to do different things with the item to make it work, but then removed the item ID  from eBay. Therefore, I cannot post a feedback and cannot ask for a return because the item doesn't exist in my purchase history anymore.  Also, there is no real help from ebay because you need to select the item from your purchase history to get any help, and the item is not there anymore.

You are not allowed to name sellers on the community threads.

There is NO way for a seller to 'remove' an item from your purchase history.

Did you open a return? (if you did, scroll down

Did you purchase the item within the past 60 days? (top of 'purchases, you can hover, drop down and choose)

The seller cannot remove a sold item from eBay to prevent feedback

Did you purchase it as a guest?  When did you purchase it?  If it's been more than 30 days since delivery, you will have to file a case with the payment service you used or your credit card company if you paid by card.

Re: Seller agprefect_09 sent a defective item and then removed my item from ebay

Sellers, as others have stated, can't delete transactions from the system to avoid all the items related to a transaction. Only ebay can remove item listings. However, there was always, for me, a ghost entry present related to that removal so you could react with returns etc. it was sometimes, but not always, related to account suspension/removals or challenged items from trademark holders.

Try going to Help & contact, Return an Item for a Refund - try locating it here. If it does not appear here, at the bottom of the page is a Contact Us for the automated agent that can get you to a live agent.

I stand corrected. Thank you. I reread the guideline.

I found the problem. It was an account problem. On some computer, it goes to one account. On  my phone it goes to a different account. I have now resolved the issue with the seller. Thank you for your input. It's good to know that a seller cannot remove an item that has been purchased.

I found the problem. It was an account problem. On a computer, the email data from Ebay goes one account. On my phone it goes to a different account. That's why I couldn't see the purchased item. I have two accounts. One for personal purchases. The other for business purposes. Thank you for your input. It's good to know that a seller cannot remove an item that has been purchased. I have now resolved the issue with the seller.
