brian_burke@ebay  I don't think this is true, at least not for all accounts.  I tested over 30 of my clothing items all day today and if the new item specific required size field was not filled out, they were not coming up in search results.  When exactly did this move take place?  Unless it has been within the last hour, it has not updated my listings for sure.  I have been doing them manually.

This is probably posted somewhere else, but could you provide a link to ALL the categories or subcategories that currently have "required" aspects (item specifics). As I understand it, most categories still have what amount to recommended aspects. It would be good to know which ones are effected by this and which are not.

All of mine have carried over fine. Since eBay has mapped the required item specifics we don't have to do anything for them to automatically relist.

So you guys and gals did in fact add shoe widths back into the left hand search column, but you have them incorrect..On Men's dress shoes, there is no size E as a current specific, just EE, or EEE...E is a wide width and many thousands of shoes were listed previously as so...When I currently search for my brand show using the left hand size and brand only without width, my shoe still does not show in search, so people still are not able to find my listing..2nd, on clothing items that are preowned, which is about 99% of my clothing items, the required UPC box used to have a drop down feature with a memory of previously used common phrases, such as does not apply..Now we must manually type this into every listing, a real slow down..I revised all of the required listings in my store, which were mainly size, but the myriads of recommended revisions do not tell you which are suggested, as they are not highlighted..If I have a single listing with 8 required revisions, now I have to play a guessing game as to which you desire, and only when I luckily guess 7 of them, does it tell me which is the remaining one..some highlighted fields might be suggested, otherwise it will never happen..Most importantly out of all of this is the items not showing in search, my sales are down 50% since the 15th..it's a tough pill to swallow..thanks for listening..

You are correct, but if you provided the information we have it and are ensuring it shows. For example, one of your items has the item specific Size (womens) with the size of 4, the new item specific is Size - we have the data and any buyer looking for your size we will show your item to the buyer.

Waaaaay too many item specs. Listing ia very harrowing and I just don't want to take so much time with all these specs. I don't think buyers need THIS MUCH INFO to simply find a relevant item. Look to Poshmark and Mercari - super simple to list and yet, people still find my items and buy them just fine. You're going back instead of forward.

Has anyone actually LOOKED at the item specifics........I really don't know how you can call them optimized.......

So an item is in the correct catagory, "women's tops" for example, and now you also want "department", when "gender" (regular, juniors, etc) is also in the title. Just redundancy and no auto fill either. Last months updates were great, this month is going to far. I have found that generic (buyer) searches do better with less words.

Hi @gulfcoasthula Clarifying the prior post, the mapping is done on the backend for the purpose of making listings available for search and discovery on the website. You will not see this mapping on the View Item page.

For the required item specifics for clothing, the size is being mapped to be searchable on the left navigation for buyers.  The seller is still seeing this required item specific "blank" if we go to revise the listing.

If a seller leaves the new required item specific blank but the item has been mapped by ebay, will the listing automatically renew on a GTC listing?  If so, how long can we expect that to be the case for?

Is there a plan for eBay to transfer the old item specific into the new required field? If so, when can sellers expect to see this change?
