Also, can we please remove "Department"?
We are already choosing the department when we are in the category.
When we are listing women's tops (for example) we already know the department is Women's; it is in the WOMEN'S category already. This should be an auto-fill at the very least but really shouldnt be there since we already selected WOMEN'S, when we started the listing.
The other "department" choices are:
Womens
Mens
Boys
Girls
Baby
Again, we already select these while we are in the category making out listings
thank you

What about the Good Till Cancelled ones that just roll over? Should I update those?
You don't have to update your Good Till Cancelled listings, they will roll over without any changes from you. If you do choose to edit your listings we recommend that that you start using the new item specifics.
Thanks

What? Your dinnerware is not 100% polyester? I don't think these people responding here have clue as to what actually is going on sometimes. Sort of like the "capacity" drop down in the "pants' category.....in ounces? LOL

You know what's really funny??? Capacity is NOT an option for glassware in H&G 😞

This is probably posted somewhere else, but could you provide a link to ALL the categories or subcategories that currently have "required" aspects (item specifics). As I understand it, most categories still have what amount to recommended aspects. It would be good to know which ones are effected by this and which are not.
Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques ,
You can find all the details here: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/listing-and-marketing/item-specifics.html. There are links that contain every category and the required item specifics for Toys, Fashion, Home & Garden, Collectibles, and Media & Gift Cards.
Thanks

@Anonymous
Hi ron
I am dumbfounded.
There are so many irrelevant item specific options appearing in the clothing category.
On top of that. I have a specific issue regarding womens shoes.. womens shoe are often listed in both eur size and us size.. ,, ebay finally made the option available last year and it has been very helpful.. however.. now the new required item specific only has one option for size.. this is just not going to work..different brands of shoes don't always translate over equivalently. sometimes eu 37 equals a us 7 sometimes eu 37 is a size 6... it's important for sellers to be able to list both size options ..
regarding boots.. the new required specifics do not cover the important characteristics that women search for with boots.
on top of that,, the new specific removed the option for boot shaft height.
the hell height on women's shoes is also missing
it's just so bad, i don't know wear to start..
are you all planning on trying to roll it back to pre oct 15.. because for the first time in a long time.. the specifics were actually pretty good....
it seems to me that if you don't roll back to pre oct 15, it's going to be just trying to correct already bad code.. which is a recipe for disaster.
is there some reason why ebay couldn't just turn back the clock to oct 15.??
make a system wide announcement for 24 hours.. telling all sellers not to make new listings.. and to save any listings they have created since the 15th..
then ebay can turn off the ability to make new listings..
then they go back to pre oct 15.. is this even posssible?

I thought this discussion would be about technical issues in seller hub, but it appears it is only for Clothing Sellers..........

New listings will need to have the required item specifics in order to list, if you revise an existing GTC listing then you will need to update the required item specifics.
Thank you for your question!
completeoutfitter doesn't seem to be denoted as an ebay employee.........Is this answer correct?
well looks like he may be...........so any revision to gTC will require it, I presume a price decrease, sale, etc.

So you guys and gals did in fact add shoe widths back into the left hand search column, but you have them incorrect..On Men's dress shoes, there is no size E as a current specific, just EE, or EEE...E is a wide width and many thousands of shoes were listed previously as so...When I currently search for my brand show using the left hand size and brand only without width, my shoe still does not show in search, so people still are not able to find my listing..2nd, on clothing items that are preowned, which is about 99% of my clothing items, the required UPC box used to have a drop down feature with a memory of previously used common phrases, such as does not apply..Now we must manually type this into every listing, a real slow down..I revised all of the required listings in my store, which were mainly size, but the myriads of recommended revisions do not tell you which are suggested, as they are not highlighted..If I have a single listing with 8 required revisions, now I have to play a guessing game as to which you desire, and only when I luckily guess 7 of them, does it tell me which is the remaining one..some highlighted fields might be suggested, otherwise it will never happen..Most importantly out of all of this is the items not showing in search, my sales are down 50% since the 15th..it's a tough pill to swallow..thanks for listening..
Hey @luckywabbit Sorry for the delay. Multiple points here regarding search, can you post a couple of queries so I can see what you're seeing. Regarding UPC, can you tell me which listing tool you are using?

So even if I did a bulk edit and changed nothing (I do that sometimes and I think it has helped when things are slow) then I need to go in and change those IS's?
