Thanks!
I noticed that nearly all of my items have been mapped and can be found in the left navigation search now.
With one exception.
My shoes that were previously listed with both US and EUR sizes in the item specifics is being dumped into "not specified" for size. Is this something that has been worked out or should I go ahead an manually fix those at this time?
We have discovered a small number of categories in shoes where not all of the listings have been mapped. We're actively working on fixing the mappings, but you can always manually fix them if you wish.
Thanks

I have some questions about the applicability of some of the new IS in Home & Garden
Items listed in Home & Garden > Kitchen, Dining & Bar > Dinnerware & Serveware > Plates
is asking for "Character" and "Character Family" like Branded Toys
Also "Department" (Kids, Teens, Adult)
What the heck do those things have to do with Dinnerware??
Also this ... Cashmere and Silk and Down Serving Pieces?
(Second screenshot is a spelling thing ... it is spelled "Matte")

@Anonymous thank you for your clarification. I am not seeing that translate into my searches when I am logged out. Maybe I am just one of the sellers that is still being moved over? I saw you told newfinds that it was taking some time and that all sellers could not be done at once. I am just trying to understand how the system works so that I can adapt and adjust accordingly. Like many other sellers, sales were rough this weekend and I do feel that at least *part* of that is that many of my items were not visible. Thank you.

Hi I understand your frustration @collins53422 but that is incorrect. There's currently a lot of misinformation and incorrect guidance being passed around on social media and YouTube. eBay should be the source of guidance and information.

I've heard that the real problem is that eBay doesn't have sufficient Servers. Is that what's causing all the ongoing issues? It's become a monthly senario with glitches and bugs. Very frustrating!

How CAN this type of thing happen?
This is the 4th quarter.........all most of us want to do is list (properly)........can't this stuff be walked back and let some real people work on improving it, while sellers actually list for the holidays?
I could give you ALOT more examples of both of the above........that you are telling sellers to deal with now.....
Thank you @dhbookds First, I completely agree. During the deployment, we hit and issue with the dependencies between size type and size (Big & Tall - > 3XL) for 5 categories. To clear the way for the deployment to complete, we deleted the dependency. We have addressed the base issue which caused the problem and are currently taking another pass at the design for these dependencies so that we can re-enable. While there is no functional issue with either listings or filtering in search, it just looks bad. I'm measuring twice and cutting once before deploying again.

Are any listings (new or GTC) being blocked because the "required" IS are not filled in?
10-21-2019 03:35 PM - edited 10-21-2019 03:38 PM
@Anonymous
So, let me see if I've got this straight. ebay will map this behind the scenes, so to speak, so there is no way for a seller to know , when looking at his listing, whether ebay has actually mapped it correctly or not? A seller could, I gather, try to do a search using the filter to see if his item shows up. Sellers with thousands of effected listings probably won't like that idea.
Or am I missing something here? Is there an easy way for a seller to know that ebay has correctly mapped the item behind the scenes?

Nobody has asked about the selling graphs and associated data. Your original announcement was: We've received reports of technical issues in Seller Hub, including sales graphs not being up to date, as well as problems when revising or creating listings within Clothing, Shoes and Accessories categories.
So what is the status with the selling graphs and associated sales data? My data has been wrong ever since the holiday. I currently have no data for this past Saturday and Sunday yet Sunday was my best day ever.

So I need not make any adjustments to my current listings even though there are new required fields. Does this impact visibility of my items? The auction items must all be re-listed individually?
Thanks @baxterbog That is correct. We would prefer that you adopt the new item specific upon re-list, but there should be no impact to visibility.
Thanks

For the love of God, at least keep your word, even if your update is you have no solutions as of yet. Tell us that. Glitches are a part of the internet. We can handle that. Just stop doing this 4rth quarter update **bleep** and be honest with us.

The SIZE is duplcated....the "department" is redundant...."type" is redundant (we already had style which is the same)....I could go on....
We've already noted that we've moved detailed size item specifics to a more universal one called Size. Over time we want all listings to move to this new field, but are keeping your existing ones as to not be disruptive. Department is indeed redundant within a given leaf category but it's important for when your listing shows up outside of that category. As a convenience we're pre-filling this for you but it hasn't rolled out 100% . It will within the next 24 hours. We've also worked to try to align item specifics where the same item specific was called different things in different categories. In order to do this, the item specifics may have changed in a given leaf category.

doug@ebay in reply, I do believe that most sellers would LOVE to be able to get reliable and accurate answer from ebay, but I think many of our experiences with ebay have left us leery of trusting ebay. For example, I called this morning and was clearly told that the item specific size deal was NOT even being worked on. Then we read the prior announcement which says it will be today and now you tell me that it is already fixed, yet when I search it doesn't seem to be? Know what I mean? I don't even care if the answer isn't what I want to hear - I just want it straight. All the time. Just honesty and transparency so we can figure out how best to move forward and feed our families. Thank you all for your time. I do not envy your position.
10-21-2019 03:38 PM
Thank you for the explanation.
What will happen once these are fixed?
For example, I listed a couple pairs of mens jeans this weekend.
Size 32 waist.
My options were 32 or 32 in.
Lets say I chose 32 in. When they are fixed, will that cause another problem with my item specifics if I should have chosen 32?
10-21-2019 03:38 PM
Just a possible suggestion..would it be feasible to just revert back to the old item specifics, and reintroduce these new specifics at a later time after the 4th quarter has ended..perhaps you could get a group together of long time anchor store sellers, that can offer item specific advice for each of their niches, and formulate a better system that way...this way eBay and it's sellers and buyers can resume buying & selling again..to be honest, I don't forsee everything being properly fixed in the near future, but perhaps I am incorrect..I mean this in the most sincere & respectful way..
Kind Regards,
Rick
