Do you see the variations issue actually getting resolved where the system is going to go back and capture the correct on hands and sales to date?  I was told by eBay to cancel the orders for the units that do not actually exist by using the "address conflict" reason.   I'm getting blasted by the buyers for this, as if I am incompetent and causing them great distress.

Do you have a better way of dealing with this? and can I get an ETA for resolution?

Hi @sugarcitysales, the issue that caused this has been resolved, meaning quantities will remain as they should going forward. We are working to backfill the quantities on the impacted items with the quantity that was present before the incident occurred. However, we will not touch the listing quantity if a sale or revision has occurred since that time. If a sale or revision has occurred then you will need to manually revise the quantity.

Another shipping question.

Shipping to Buyer Name, General Delivery, City, State, Zip Code.  The one I recently shipped was to a smaller town in VT.

I asked a few questions about General Delivery in a post on the Shipping & Returns board and received some very helpful info there.

One question I asked was when does the Post Office consider the item delivered.  When it arrives at that particular Post Office or when the addressee claims the item?  I received the answer that it is considered as delivered by the Post Office when it arrives at that post office.

When does eBay consider it delivered?  Will it show as delivered on my account when it arrives at that post office?

What if the buyer claims item not delivered?

Hi @b86fiero - As long as the tracking shows an attempted delivery we consider it 'delivered'. In the case of General Delivery, we'd look for any 'Available for Pickup' type of scan. Our system is designed to update based on USPS' tracking info - so yes, I would expect it to reflect the USPS scan (though it may not be immediately after the USPS scans it).

As long as we see that the item is available for the buyer to pick up you are protected. 🙂

Hi @millcreekrescue909, while this tracking info doesn't appear to be valid, I wanted to share a friendly reminder that tracking numbers cannot be shared in the Community as they pose a security risk to both the shipper and receiver. This would fall under our guideline against sharing private information.

Regarding item specifics in listings

I sell in a category that seems to have some crazy item specifics.  Although I like to be complete when I list items, there are some that I just don't get and wonder why they show up all the time.

For example, in mens Briefs, I am asked to provide IS for character, character family, theme

And then there are some that are just repetitive

Mens Briefs, Type Briefs,  Product Line, Model

Graphic Print,  Pattern.

and when I fill out some of them, I can go back after they are listed and on the site for a bit and I find that there are missing Specifics that I know that I put in originally.

Does ebay kick out some IS for any reason?  What happens when you leave out stuff like Type, product line etc?

It just seems like I try to fill them out completely and then get a notice that I need to fill them out again.

How often do these standards for IS change?  Is this part of the updates that ebay does and we have to continually change the IS?

Thanks

Hi @golfingaddict, not all item specifics from a category will apply to your listing and you are only required to fill out the required item specifics. Adding a much detail as possible will improve your chance of being seen in search by potential buyers, but there would be no need to fill out irrelevant item specifics. If you have any feedback or are being required to provide information that is not applicable you can contact sdsupport@eBay.com with more details and our catalog team will review for you, no problem!

Lost my internet connection for most of 5 days, Friday morning thru Tuesday evening. And, due to the current situation, libraries and other places I might have gone to log in are closed. So
- didn't get notice of a sale on Sunday (still haven't--no emails Sat-Mon)
- couldn't get the info to ship Thursday sales, or print labels
Can I get any relief from the defects caused by the late shipping?

Hi @vrykalak, while I can't say definitively what protection options are available for you, I recommend you contact Customer Service with the related item numbers to discuss this further.

I would, but I can't find any option in the electronic triage that seems relevant. Suggestions?

Hi @vrykalak, I recommend the Seller Protections topic: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-protections?id=4345

Another question about Item Specifics:
If the item I'm selling is in the product catalog, why aren't IS values that are in the catalog data automatically filled in?
...It's not any particular category. Catalog never fills in IS values.

Hi @vrykalak, we would need an example to look into this further for you and elaborate.

It is not just 1 listing, all the sponsored ones are clearly overpriced and ebay cannot pretend to not know about it and then deactivate lower price listings.

Hi @mekkhasgirl, if these sponsored listings are for items that are not allowed on the site then please report them. They are not allowed on the site and we will take action to remove them.

In this post (https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/200-free-listings-through-April-on-non-store-accounts/m-p/3083...) Tyler confirmed that the 200 free listings promo in April had a glitch regarding auction-style listings scheduled to automatically relist 8 times.

"This is a confirmed technical issue: the 8 free relists for auctions should not be pulling from the 200 promo."

Is this glitch going to be repeated in May or has it been fixed for next month? Thanks!

Hi @coffeebean832, I'm not sure the status of this one. I'll reach out to our tech team to get an update and post in this chat (and tag you) at that time. Thanks 🙂

Hi @coffeebean832, I received confirmation that this has been resolved, so in May it will be fine 🙂
