Thanks for your patience!Tyler, I do appreciate that your team is being thorough in gathering information for all scenarios before advising, but let me ask you this--
How is the average seller supposed to know the process when it's taking your team so much effort to gather info from other teams? The help pages do not cover this and receiving correct information from CS is hit or miss.
The help pages have less information now than they did before the redesign. It feels like they are intentionally very vague and incomplete.
OH so well said. I enjoy selling on Ebay and I take my responsibilities as a seller very seriously. And YES, this makes it so difficult to function when we have to chase things down for weeks to get a little bit of VERY IMPORTANT information for US to be able to do our jobs responsibly.
I do completely understand and respect that the Ebay employees here are just trying to do the best job they can to help all of us. But we too are just trying to do the best job we can for our customers. Sometimes Ebay ties our hands on this and we are the ones left to hold the bag.

I really don't like it.Hi @*coins, I'm not aware of any beta tests for the Leave Feedback button. It looks like your screenshot is an older version of the Purchase History page. The newer page does prominently display the "Leave feedback" button.
I'm happy to look into this further to see what information I can find about the button change on the old page. I'll send you an email shortly to get some examples from you.
brian@ebay
Well mine is a mix of everything !!
Some say Return Item, Some Say Leave Feedback, Some say Write Review, Some say View Ordre Details.
So not sure why the difference between the Return This Items & Leave Feedback Items buttons.
After you have run out of time to return or leave feedback, I believe that it changes to 'view order details' unless the item was in eBay's catolog and has the option to have a review written about it.

I know that ebay as well as most companies have special return rates and first class returns are not only up to 15.99 oz as regular shipping labels so what about insurance?
If I ship out an item Priority mail with either the $50.00 or $100.00 insurance or even insue for extra on my own & a return label is issued by ebay how does a seller cover themselves in the event an item arrives back damaged ?
To be honest I don't believe a buyer has the vested interest in the items safe return and may not pack it the way sellers might to pervent damage.
How does a seller get insurance for their items with ebay returns?Hi @labs118 - eBay-issued return labels are covered for either $50 or $100 based on the service used. If more insurance is needed it would be better for a member to purchase their own label and get it to a customer. There is not a way to attach additional insurance to an eBay generated return label.
If an item then arrives damaged a seller would pursue a regular insurance claim with USPS.
tyler@ebay
But the$50/ $100 insurance would be if ebay issued a Priority mail return label correct?
they often issue First class return service for items up to what 4 pounds?
So is that service insured?

If I were to offer Free Returns, will I still be able to withhold the original shipping or otherwise give a partial refund on a claim that is filed as a Buyer’s Remorse? What if I do free shipping? Will I still be able to give a partial refund on a Buyer’s Remorse Request?
Will I still be able to have the buyer pay for return shipping if I do Free Returns?
Hi @mam98031, sellers will still have the option to retain original shipping on remorse returns, even when offering free returns. We expect partial refunds of the item cost to only be done if an item is returned damaged and not on remorse returns. Sellers that offer Free Returns will not have the ability to charge buyers for return shipping.

Bryan,
Above is a discussion we had last week. I did send you an email requesting clarification on what you stated, but I have not yet heard back from you. Please advise as I feel it is important for sellers to understand this. Right or wrong doesn’t matter at this point, I’m just trying to make sure I understand the program as it stands.
You stated that partial refunds will NOT be available for a BR return. But that doesn’t make sense to me. Often times it is a BR return that the item will come back in used condition when it was new when it left my hands.
So let’s say this happens with the purchase of a fragrance. The buyer lets me know that they don’t like the smell, so they want to return the item. Certainly I can’t guarantee that anyone will like any particular fragrance. That is completely a personal choice with all kinds of variable.
First thing to notice is that they state that they don’t like the smell. Right off that tells me they broke the seal on the packaging / bottle and used it. Now the item is no longer in new condition and therefore I can’t sell it as new which makes the price difference / value of the return significantly different than it was when I shipped it.
So why is it that Ebay is of the opinion that on a BR claim sellers should not have the need to offer a partial refund?
Hi @mam98031, I must have missed your email, sorry about that! I can definitely check again and reply to you in more detail later today.
To clarify my previous post, sellers that offer free returns can do a partial refund for items that are returned damaged or an altered condition from what it was when originally shipped out. This can be done even if the buyer selected a remorse reason. We trust that sellers will only do partial refunds when an item is altered or damaged.
If a buyer opens a product (like perfume) then this alters the condition. Since the item is altered, sellers that offer free returns will have the option of doing a partial refund (up to 50% of the item cost) to their buyer. I'll reply to your email to see if you have any follow-up questions and I'll be happy to offer more clarity!
Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate that. It makes perfect sense that both types of Request for Returns are treated the same in regards to partial refunds, but their is conflicting information out there on the site, so I just wanted this to be clear.
If you call the call center, they are telling me that NO you can not do a partial refund on BR requests. So that needs to be addressed too.

Would requesting money from a buyer, via PayPal, for a shipping service that was not offered in a listing (but the buyer wants) be allowed. Example: Buyer pays for an item that has free economy shipping. After paying the buyer sends a message to the seller and asks if the item can be shipped Priority Mail.
Hi @mcdougle4248 - as long as the buyer has made the purchase on eBay and paid for the item, there shouldn't be an issue for you to arrange the additional payment for a shipping upgrade.
Tyler, thanks - good reply but would it be possible to provide a step by step process to achieve adding the additional $$ for the specially requested shipping method AFTER the item has been paid for? Is it a separate invoice? And if so, how is it linked to the original transaction? Is there a Revise the original invoice function somewhere?
Hi @mr_lincoln - once an item has been paid for there isn't a way to re-invoice the member through eBay for additional services, so the best thing to do would be to arrange a payment through PayPal as mcdougle mentioned. A payment in this manner wouldn't be tied to the original transaction, so there is an element of risk associated with it from a PayPal perspective.
Alternatively you could consider cancelling the transaction, and relisting for the buyer to purchase with their preferred shipping method, but I think that's a little clunky.
If the item hadn't yet been paid for, you could send another invoice from the 'more actions' drop down in the Awaiting Payment section.

In my listings my store categories run down the left side along the description box. These provide buyers a clickable link to other items I have listed under different categories.
When the eBay Pick Buy Box and the product catalog are fully functioning, will these disappear?
In the future will buyers still be able to use these links to traverse through stores and where will they be able to see them?

Sorry but we cannot issue our own label if ebay is issuing our automatic Buyer Remorse labels for us!

It's on my Summary page, too.
The first option, prominently displayed as a colorful button, is RETURN THIS ITEM...not LEAVE FEEDBACK, as it was the last time I looked. This is TERRIBLE!

This is an issue.
Go to your Site Preferences for your rules on Returns. Check the box that you have to issue an RMA on all returns. That will resolve this problem. Ebay will NOT issue the return label until you come in and assign your RMA #. That will give you the time to review the claim and issue your own label.

My question is about the "Under $10" splash page that was up a while back. I completely sold out of some of my manicure products while that was running! Can we expect to see that becoming a regular feature on the home page?
Hi @kimberleys_attic - great to hear that it was so helpful. I haven't heard on whether or not it will be a permanent fixture on the home page, but it is still a dedicated page in and of itself - I'll make sure that the marketing team knows it was helpful for your business! 😄

Sorry @labs118 - that wasn't really thorough, let me try again!
Return labels are insured as far as it is included with the service (Priority 50-100, etc). First Class is not something that is automatically insured, so this wouldn't be included. If insurance is needed on those types of items it would be better to purchase your own return label and get it to the buyer.

Hi @b86fiero - I can't speak for how it could look in the future, but at this point in time your description isn't visible from the product page unless your item is clicked on, or the 'more details' button is pressed. Then your entire description becomes visible, including your store categories displayed to the left of the description. Thanks!
