Insert pictures in a listing with variations

When I try to insert a photo on one item, it posts the same photo on all variations. I think I am doing something wrong. Can anyone help? I tried Ebay tech and just got form letter that doesn't help.

About two weeks ago all ebay sold alerts stopped. I have seen this happen off and on before, but not for this long. Are others having problems with this or other ebay alerts?
