Status Code 500, Store > Store Categories Creation Page

Store Categories Creation page loads the following page:

"It’s not you. It’s us.
Our server is down, but we’ll have things back to normal soon. If you still need help, visit our help pages."

I've cleared cache.
I've hard reloaded the page.
I've tried different browsers.
I've tried incognito / private window
Nothing changes this.

For reference this is the page im talking about. The Category Creation page....
Not just looking at my store and seeing the categories on the side.

Either one of the below paths bring up a status 500 page. Not the category management page

I'm seeing it...........

Can't get to it thru the community pages, but once I use  the workaround to get to the store, categories show up....

I think they just used the wrong 'sign'

Ok, not really, but I just like posting this.

Overall, just wait a few minutes, few hours, few days. Things here ALWAYS fix themselves.

@dhbookds
Im talking about going to my store, then going to store categories so I can create categories.

The Category Creation page is just the status 500 page

Is this a universal issue or regional issue? Is this a load balancer issue and only some people are experiencing it? I've seen other posts in the forums stating they are experiencing the same thing.

Just keeping the issue alive, most likely this is a simple fix. Restart your application pools or API for categories

What page or link are you starting from? Perhaps you are using an old bookmarked link?

I see your store page here:

@eburtonlab
Going to seller hub > Store dropdown then to Store Categories.

The page you CREATE categories on.

Im not talking about looking at my store and not seeing categories.

Picture for reference.

This way doesnt work either.....

Both bring up the status 500 page

Can you create new categories in your store?

Re: Status Code 500, Store > Store Categories Creation Page

I do not have a store to test.

Did you recently change your username? How long ago?

If you have not signed out of eBay since then, try signing out completely, then signing back in. Sometimes a username change does not fully propagate until after that happens, which can cause all sorts of odd errors.

You did say that you have tried other browsers and cleared your cache, which should have taken care of this issue, unless you are still using an old bookmark, or if eBay needs time to process the name change.

Sorry, I misunderstood the problem........  I use Ebay categories, so can't test to create categories........

@eburtonlab

I did try this just now, based on your suggestion. Good idea, thanks for that.
Unfortunately no change, still getting the same "Its not you its us" screen.

I don't use any bookmark to get here, just type in ebay in my search bar so I don't think its that.
Anyways, great suggestions, appreciate it.

Still stuck with the status 500 screen.
I was really looking forward to making some custom sections, for couponing etc

Still wondering, is this a universal issue? Is everyone with a store having the same exact problem?

I'm seeing no issues. Windows 10 / Edge. The direct URL is: https://www.ebay.com/sh/str/category

Re: Status Code 500, Store > Store Categories Creation Page

Awesome, thank you for answering. I know I have seen at least 3 other posts with my issue, in the Selling Tools section. I will try Edge and see what happens.

@hardrhymer76

Ok so I am seeing the same issue on Microsoft Edge.

I have a "Basic Store" subscription, one higher than the lowest. Does that have something to do with it?

I tried your link, and I tried navigating from my store and from the seller dashboard dropdown.

All bring me to the Status 500 page
