Store Categories Creation page loads the following page:
"It’s not you. It’s us.
Our server is down, but we’ll have things back to normal soon. If you still need help, visit our help pages."
I've cleared cache.
I've hard reloaded the page.
I've tried different browsers.
I've tried incognito / private window
Nothing changes this.
For reference this is the page im talking about. The Category Creation page....
Not just looking at my store and seeing the categories on the side.
Either one of the below paths bring up a status 500 page. Not the category management page

I have a "Basic Store" subscription, one higher than the lowest. Does that have something to do with it?
I doubt it. But I noticed something strange when I tried to view your feedback profile:
And when I try to view your items for sale (non-store view):
But your store link works fine for me.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So something is up on an account-level for you. Maybe someone else has seen this before and can elaborate.

The non-working community links are due to a recent username change; if you notice, the username in the link URL is different than the OP's current username. The community forum no longer imports the most recent profile information from eBay for some reason.
Ordinarily a username change can cause odd behavior, but once the user has signed out of eBay completely and then signed back in (or erased eBay cookies), the change should be fully propagated throughout eBay (though not the community pages, apparently).

I navigated there differently and all normal. Good to know, thanks.

@eburtonlab @hardrhymer76
I wish this would fix it.
Yes I have changed my Username, when I changed to having a store, and made some branding to go with it. IE my new profile pic and the banner.
I have logged out many times now, since clearing all cookies and cache force that. Not to mention I've logged in from browsers i've never logged in with.
Maybe I will try clearing everything again. Logging out of all browsers and devices.
And then logging in again on my original browser.
I think your guess about the new changes not propagating makes total sense. Ill let you know.

Welp that didnt work. Wonder if there is a way to force a sync of your profile.

Apparently the only de-sync you're experiencing is between the main site and the Community forums, which wouldn't cause your issue.
I thought of something else--probably a longshot--but can you access your Edit Store page? If so, you can check if you have any custom modules set up there and delete what you can and revert to default on everything else (especially anything involving store categories). I think you can leave your billboard image alone. Then try going into Store Categories again.

@hardrhymer76
Pretty much everything is stock/default, minus my picture and banner.
Excellent suggestions though. I appreciate it

@thecollectorswebb on that screen shot.........I see this........
try changing to store categories...........

Excellent suggestion. I have changed that before and published. I get the same screen when going to the Store Categories creation page.
If I add "Featured Categories", And then select "Store Categories" It pops up a warning saying I need to create them. Clicking the link it provides, going to the left menu "Store Categories" or the Store dropdown > Store Categories, all result in the same Status 500 Error page.

was afraid of that, but worth a try.......
Only other thing I can think of is to use the ? down in the right hand corner of the page to report a tech problem........you can put the URL of this thread in it.....supposedly goes to the people in charge of that page who might be able to get it fixed.......

A whole week of my subscription gone and still cannot create categories for my store.

@thecollectorswebb I just created a basic store 2 days ago and experiencing the same thing. No matter what I do I get the "its not you its us" generic error when I click the store categories button to add new categories.

@pandazcollects i feel your pain, hopefully they look into soon

Looks like this has been going on about a week and only brand new store subscribers are impacted which is why sellers with established stores cannot replicate the problem. Anybody unable to access this page:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/str/category
File a tech report - it's fast and easy and eBay does review these reports. The more people reporting, the higher priority the issue will get in the fix queue.
Click the ? icon on the bottom right corner of almost any eBay page and that will trigger the option to file a tech report, submit feedback to eBay, and more. Screenshots here.
Tagging sellers I've seen reporting the problem:
