Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

I am not sure if it is has to do something with announced 'technical issues', but the sales instantly dropped after July 1st to ridiculous numbers. Anyone else faced the same problem?

Absolutely I average 10 to 15 sells a day and sence July 1 we have had 3 sales. And the most frustrating thing about it is there is nothing we can do. 😡

if there is a problem, it may be in certain categories only.  i am a buyer, and i have looked for...found...and purcased several items these past couple of days.  all's good with my searching and buying.  just fyi.

Yep we average 12-20 sales a day.

We normally avg around $200 a day.  ($150-$275)

Yep, I am used to about 1 sale per day.  After the drop (whatever it is) I am down to about 1 sale per week.  It is almost vacation time and I will hit it hard again when I get back.  Good luck to you.

Yes, but mine and several other people can be contributed to the loss of the Markdown manager.  I was running sales all the time and now can't do it so nobody is buying at full price.  I went from over $100 a day to $50 on average.   Yesterday, I was happy cause I sold a $60 DVD set that I just put up, but today, the buyer says he wants to cancel.    Only thing I did was put a bunch of stuff at auction at old sale prices which cost me $50 and currently at $200 in bids, but doesn't make up for lost sales yet.

i assume most of you are aware that there are technical issues with photos and if it affects you, have dealt with it... but in case not... please check to make sure that your photos are all working,  as a buyer, that would certain deter me if photos were missing.

Had my worst day in 5 years on Sunday July 1st and a bad day yesterday. I normally sell 10-14 items a day and sold 2 things for 89 bucks total. Ugggh. Seems like its fixed now as Im at about 15 items sold today.

Re: Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

Yes, my sales have been down in general the last few months however these past few days they were incredibly low.  I know this only talks about 07/01 however this past weekend was one of the worst I have had in years.  From Friday to Monday morning I normally have and ship anywhere from 70 to 100 orders - this last weekend I only had 25!  Also noticed for the past few weeks my "views" haven't been updating and keep going back to - or 0 even after going in and viewing the listing from another account (that should be at least 1 view). Anyone know where we can find out what the actual "technical problems" are so we can look over our listing and be sure we are not being effected?  I haven't bothered saying much cause every time I have to call into eBay it ends up being at least an hour out of my night.

Re: Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

Agreed! The loss of being able to freely markdown listings due to the 14 day waiting period for a "new" listing is definitely affecting our sales. For sellers that have 1,000's of listings in their store (which sellers pay a monthly premium for the anchor store subscription) - we are always in a constant mode of rotating sales and promotions and advertising those on social media platforms - always a balancing act with specific rotations. Now we are having to change all of our scheduling, which has caused a further decrease in impressions and sales.

Then add to that...having to go through the time consuming process of ending / relisting in the "sell similar" format so the listing isn't "stale" anymore, which according to what eBay has communicated to us directly - listings become stale and may not appear in search results after 30 days. So instead of doing this process all at once, now we are having to spread them all out in greater spreads so at least we have the ability to have some listings that qualify for markdowns, special promotions, etc. If we wanted to run a special weekend sale on a certain type of collectible or artist, if those products have been recently relisted and falls within the 14 day wait period - we are handcuffed and can't run the special promo. Again, a source of sales decline, incresed labor costs and loss of time allocation for processing brand new products to list.

But in addition to the markdown restrictions, we have been hurt by the change in the store search feature. Not only is the "search store" box been eliminated from the unique store listing frames, it's been incorporated into the general search box up top and doesn't work consistently - that's if a buyer can even find it. Additionally the search box that can be found in an individual listing (this is for stores that utilize this feature) - it still appears, but when you type in a key word it takes you back to the store front with no results. To try and re-educate our shoppers on how to find the search feature we actually had to change our large logo on our store front with a big arrow pointing upwards with the text "search our store".  We have spoken to eBay several times about the search box issue and were told they are aware of the issues and are working on a solution.....hopefully this is a true statement.

Changes are good, but changes should actually be tested and retested before rolling out so they work AND benefit sellers ability to sell - so everyone, including eBay can make money.

Re: Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

Yes, all that is true.  I have almost 6000 items up and used to always runs sales and now I can't so buyers are not buying.  I finally sold a few hundred dollars yesterday, but that was due to my auctions.  If we can't run sales, then only thing I can do is go back to running auctions every week on certain items and rest price a little cheaper.  However, I do NOT have time to edit 6000 items to change price so eventually will have to put those back on sale when Ebay lets me.   Yes, Ebays new product search is bad because all it cares about is lowest price, which is great for MEGA sellers who can sell 100s of one item.   Also taking away watchers on the listing itself hurt sales.    Ebay does very llittle to help out the small to medium sellers anymore while focusing more on MEGA sellers who can list 100,000 items for free and probably get a special rate on final value fees as well.

Re: Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

My revenue has dropped by about 75 to 80% in the last 2 weeks. I usually see an uptick in sales when eBay bucks are released and when eBay has other special promotions. I haven't experienced this in the past 2 weeks.

It feels as if nobody is here but sellers. I can't help but feel as if there are some underlying issues that we aren't being told about. I am accustomed to sales slowing in the summer months. But this seems very abrupt.

It would be great if eBay would go back to doing what works.

Re: Instant sales drop to 3 sales a day after 2 years stable 20-30 sales a day.

Yes - this will be my 20th year on eBay and it's been a STEADY DECLINE for the past 10 years. Not only do you have to pay to list your items with the eBay stores, but now they want you to pay 1-100% to PROMOTE your listings so they are seen. What MORON is going to pay 100% to promote their items? I also do a Buy 1 & Get 1 @ 50% off promotion for all of my items. But, what do the idiots at eBay do? They put the promotion at the very BOTTOM of pages - we're lucky if buyers simply READ the title let alone scroll all the way to the bottom of a page to find the promotion. Most sellers complained, promotion was moved back to top and poof - back at the bottom with sales to go along with it. Thoroughly disgusted and complaining only falls on deaf ears.
