I've been a regular buyer and occasional seller on eBay since they began. Why are my funds being held up?

ebay's new policy to make sure there is no anomaly between buyer and seller and once you are approved after 14 days ebay will still hold your money for the following orders and get payout within 5 days

You're considered a new seller and new sellers will have their funds held.
Due to the amount the item sold for, they might hold the funds for 30 days.

'Occasional seller' are the key words here. Agree with Ken that it could be held longer, since the item was pricey.

Because:
You could have your back against the wall regardless of your past history here and decided to just list some random thing for $2000 and not send anything; or send box of rocks; or it not even be you and the account was hacked so the person that took over your account can make off with the $2000.
Bottom line; the buying membership are being protected and so is ebay when a person comes out of the blue, sells a $2000 item without selling anything in the past 90 days etc.
This is all very typical of a person that has not sold anything for the past 90 days (therefore, you are not considered a 'seller' as you are now considered a 'new' seller)

There is no new policy that covers this issue you have, but an old policy that has been around for awhile, even when PayPal was the money processor.

Without any details on what is going on in your situation, it is hard to say. It is not a one size fits all type of thing.
