Right!  The fee the seller paid to PayPal now goes to Ebay!  In what universe does this make sense!!?? Bottom line...no saving and more headache!

Re: Infographic: How payouts work on managed payments

This is asinine, to put it nicely. I get paid through PayPal, the money is there immediately, and I can purchase shipping based on that. Now, I have to put my own money out instead of using the money paid by the buyer. And I just don't trust shipping anything out without actually getting that money. Terrible move. If you're gonna handle payments, at least keep sellers in the same position as before.

So what you're saying is if you want to wait for your money, which you didn't really have to do before, you have to slow down the process yourself. This system is inefficient. And the seller has to shell out shipping fees before actually getting any payment if they decide to "trust" eBay.

AGREED!  I do not make a practice of giving anyone my social security number any longer.  Ebay could be hacked like everyone else and that makes me a very uneasy seller here!  If you've already got my bank account number, my address, my telephone number and my email you do not need my SS number.  Especially if I'm not making enough to tax! ($20K)

Stupid.  Some of us don't have jobs or available money and need that money in our accounts the next day to ship our items.

With PayPal I could have the money on my debit card within 5 minutes of an item being sold.  Now it sounds like it will take 5 days.

Jesus, eBay is officially god awful.  This year just keeps getting worse as the rich continue to strangle everyone below them.

How are pending funds used to pay for shipping labels? There's no option anywhere for that. >.<

Re: Infographic: How payouts work on managed payments

Glad to hear I'm not the only person who thinks this is ridiculous. eBay advertises this change as "easy" and "convenient." It's anything but easy and convenient. I'm on day 4 waiting for my money from a sold item to be moved to my bank account. For sellers to go from instant payment to having to wait a week for a payment is such a huge step backwards. Huge. We need/want PayPal back ... or at least the option to choose. I was just getting ready to list a bunch of stuff over the Thanksgiving weekend, but now I will hold off. I really don't see myself listing on eBay ever again unless this is changed. Not a threat, but rather a promise.

Re: Infographic: How payouts work on managed payments

i thought that ALL payments for ebay items purchased would be processed thru MANAGED PAYMENTS whether buyer used a charge card or paypal.  This is my first month running under MP and today I got a PAYPAL notification of payment for an Ebay sale!!  Transaction is in my PP account but the transaction is NOT in my MP account.  What needs to be done?

Not me. I'm going to sell on Instagram and other outlets.  I'm not going back to 1993 when it comes to getting paid. Usually when you replace something it's for the better not for the worse.

If it was an "auction" started before you were switched over to MP, the payment goes to PP, and will not show in MP.

When you get to the label printing, if you scroll down there should be an option to select label purchase from PP, or "pending" funds.

Once selected, it should stick with that choice, but it is a good idea to scroll  down, and look a few times in the future to be sure it stays selected.

You should have the option to use pending funds to print a shipping able if you do your labels on eBay.

When you get to the label printing, scroll down to look for the payment option.

Re: Infographic: How payouts work on managed payments

OK...so I get an email telling me I'm all set up with managed payments, and I see the micro deposit in my account, then all I get is "deposit failed" messages, yet they have all the correct information to make the deposit for MONEY THEY'VE OWED ME FOR WEEKS!!!  I shipped anyway because why should a good buyer suffer?  But it probably will be my last sale on ebay.

What is your reply to this seller_news_team?

We are waiting!!
