No one should ever be required to give out their social security number! After 20 years of selling, I am out. And i wont be buying much either. Etsy, Poshmark and other online forum communities will be my solution.

Yes, buyers will still be able to pay with Pay Pal, but the payment will not go to your Pay Pal account, it will go to your MP account.
Let me guess: and they keep the fee that is charged for an instant transaction in their delayed payments system

Exactly. That and many other things do not really compute well.

I'm in full agreement. Paypal works and it's simple, and money is there when small business needs it to continue. Ebay managed system is a nightmare. Holds, Extra Charges, more expensive than paypal was. This is unethical. Ebay just plots to eat away at small sellers bottom line. Also no way Ebay as a third party provider is getting my SS number.

By my count it takes five tabs and links and clicks to get to a transaction summary that 2 weeks ago I'd get in one email message with eBay/Paypal. Plus, my fees have gone up not down, and they are charging us two different amounts both called "Final Value Fee." The kicker is that the big Final Value Fee includes the sales tax in their greedy calculation, for those who have transactions from states where eBay is charging it. Some, like NY and CA amount to particularly high fees. But how is that even legal? Don

People who buy my products hate ebay managed payments. They've killed my industry. What a garbage platform. I'm happy to see it get wrecked.

MP doesn't affect buyers, with the exception of giving them the option of paying with Google pay too.
MP only affects sellers. The only other way a buyer can be affected by MP is if the seller is sharing their concerns with the buyer about things the seller doesn't like about MP, which is bad business for many reasons.

The fees in MP have NOT increased overall fees. The following numbers represent those that do not have a store and the fee rate for most common categories [not all].
Fees BEFORE going into MP
10.20% FVF + 2.9% PP fees = 13.10% plus 30 cent per transaction fee.
In MP the fees are:
10.20% FVF + 2.35% money processing fee paid to MP = 12.55% plus a 30 cent per transaction fee.

I’m done with ebay and their worthless Indian customer service. My account was hacked by one of their Indians customer service reps and some worthless wrist bracelets were purchased and when I called eBay Indian customer service they would not do any thing about it. So you think I’m giving them my bank account number, no way, bye bye eBay.

There is a big difference from your account getting hacked and Ebay getting hacked.
Why would someone from CS want to hack your account?

Your statement applies to ebay as well, given their new "managed payment" incentive and the ludicrous 15% fee they charge for every item you sell. You are making them even richer by giving away a huge percentage of your own earnings. Keep bending over and allowing willful penetration! Ebay is very greatful to have sheep so eagerly led to slaughter.

"Not as bad as we think?"
I recently sold an item for $725 and recieved $630 after Ebay took their "managed payment" fees. After paying shipping fees and what I payed for the item I was selling, I was left with a profit of $10 DOLLARS!!!! Perhaps your ok with Ebay STEALING 15-20% of your revenue but as for me (and I don't think I'm alone on this) I AM NOT! You are either a fool, or a liar.

If your profit on a $725 sale is only $10 then your pricing is way off as a seller. You set the sell price. Fees are public information and something you should have known before setting your price. As for the percentage of FVF, that depends on if you have a store and what category you sold in.
Ebay currently has NO categories in which have a 15-20% FVF.
725.00 x 12.55% [no store & for most categories] = 90.99 FVF + 30 cent transaction fee = 91.29
725.00 - 91.29 = 633.71

This MP thing has too many flaws. Does anyone else here see a Class Action Lawsuit in Ebay's future?
