I use paypal for a reason. I sell lots of stuff on ebay and the money goes into my paypal account. I have a paypal business debit card. So in turn I can purchase items using my paypal card that has funds in the account from items I have sold. This way I do not touch my regular banking/checking account for a lot of new stuff for our home; it's basically free stuff to us because it didn't cost us anything out of our regular monthly income. If we don't sell something old, we don't buy anything new. IT IS CRAZY THAT THIS IS BEING TAKEN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question: I am not going to sell on eBay anymore as a result of their managed payment requirement. My question is if I purchase something on eBay will the money they will not release to me unless I give them my checking account number be applied to my purchase? I am hoping to recover my money that way. Thank you.

No.

You, I, and millions of others, are SOL.
PayPal was typically next day, which was great. This system? Just eBay using their market share muscle to make money on the float. No reason in this day and age to have it take this long other than that. None.
Get used to waiting 3-6 days for your money if you continue to sell on eBay.

It seems to me charging a fee as a percentage of sales tax may be illegal in some, or even all, states. Any lawyers out there have an opinion?

That's the standard order of business for any B&M payment processor. It's been the case for years.

I agree .... using Paypal gave me financial protection & security. If Ebay is HACKED, we can lose everything before they even notice a problem!

ITA .... Ebay is making a CHANGE but it is not an IMPROVEMENT ... it is making things WORSE for sellers. Paypal gives me financial protection/security and I can keep Ebay transactions separate. If my money goes to my bank acct, it'll be much harder to sort things out.
I am SO disappointed, because I think this is the end if Ebay selling for me.
Ebay, if you're listening, this is NOT an improvement!

What they are doing is making it HARDER for sellers to sell ... seriously, how STUPID are these people?

Me, too. I wish it would make a difference, but I doubt it. What ever happened to USER FRIENDLY ... for sellers?

Way to go.
I am getting out of Ebay too.
There are other auction sites out there that can transfer your listings to their site at the click of a button.
Was nice knowing you Ebay but it seems greed has now led to your downfall.

the **bleep**s at eBay are doing this in Canada now as well, they force you into managed payouts, no option, no choice. i will no long sell on eBay.
