EBay now includes the sales tax and stated shipping amount in their final value fee. Now, charging final fee on stated shipping amount is fair since the seller gets the shipping fee, but to charge final value fee on sales tax is totally unfair since the seller does not get the sales tax. This whole change is bull**bleep**. PayPal was great, instant money and instant transfers.

You can’t. EBay has made it crystal clear managed payments is here to stay and by the end of the year ALL sellers will be enrolled. One of the eBay staff recently posted this ( Brian, I think) and it was quite clear. You have two options. Basically suck it up and adapt, as millions of sellers have already done. Or find another site to sell on. Period. That sounds a little harsh but it’s what EBay has decided this is the path they will take.
Fortunately we are financially comfortable and can wait for payouts. Sadly, many are not. But you do realize you can opt for daily payouts, right? They aren’t instant like PP was but it’s the way it is now. Instead of wasting all this time and energy fighting a losing battle why not put that into making your listings the best they can be? Super clear photos, great descriptions, friendly buyer terms, etc. Try to see an upside to this because it is here to stay. Or...move on.

I was told that I have to make the switch in May. No way. I'm not giving out my SS#, age, etc. Then too, with the high shipping prices, thrift stores that beat my prices when they've gotten their wares for free, and China charging less for an item then I have to pay for shipping alone ... plus all the other stuff that quitting eBayers are saying about MP ... I'm taking leave in May after being here since 2001.

I just subjected myself to the inevitable this week, and it is convoluted. eBay suggests the funds will be transferred to your bank account within 24 hours. But 24 hours later, my bank isn't even showing a pending deposit for funds showing "Completed" on the Seller Hub Summary. With paypal, of course, if I had charged someone for shipping, I could draw on those funds to cover the cost of using eBay's labels immediately after the buyer paid. Now, I will obviously have to front that if I am promising 2 day shipping and handling turnaround. My biggest issue - and this was true even of paypal since day 1 - is that eBay and paypal have created artificial delays for something that should be completely automated, if we have reached the technological point of something like a digital currency, in operation now for decades. The make it seem as delayed as if one human has to take a paper deposit slip with a check and hand deliver it to another human, and wait for the check to clear. And it is really a farce.

Makes you wonder if they completely sold it, or if they were the subject of some quiet trust busting for being the company store.

That was my reaction, too, but I assume their workaround is that they are only requesting the last four digits. It is ironic that they already had my banking information on record, because obviously we all knew they owned paypal at some point, yet they can't just automatically transfer funds immediately as a buyer pays as a courtesy to keep us devoted as sellers, when all of our sales helped the founder become the 24th wealthiest person on the planet.

SO THEY NOW GET INTEREST ON THE PAYMENTS SITTING IN THEIR ACCOUNT ALSO THEY DONT TRANSFER MONEY INTO ACCOUNTS ON BANK HOLIDAYS SO FURTHER DELAY... IVE JUST MADE MY FIRST SALE SINCE THE PAYMENTS STOPPED GOING THROUGH PAYPAL....... ITEM WAS £35 PLUS A CONTRIBUTION FROM THE BUYER TOWARDS SIGNED FOR POSTAGE CAME TOTALED £37.10 EBAY HAVE TAKEN £5.05 AND I STILL HAVE TO PAY THE £4.20 POSTAGE FROM THAT WHICH LEAVES AROUND £27.85 THE MONEY IS STILL BEING HELD BY EBAY.... WHAT'S LEFT DOES NOT COVER THE COST OF THE ITEM & I HAVE LOST MONEY. I LISTED THIS AS MAX £1 FEE. I CAN'T MAKE ANY MONEY AS PEOPLE WILL NOT PAY ANY MORE FOR THE ITEMS. AS SOMEONE ELSE SAID I CAN'T COMPETE

The only problem I've had is I can't print shipping labels because they hold the money. I have to go to another site and copy and paste info to create shipping labels. It's a hassle.

At the bottom of the shipping page, there’s an option to pay for shipping with the buyer’s payment.

i AM STOPPING SELLING BECAUSE OF THIS. IT IS WRONG THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO DELETE YOUR BANK DETAILS FROM EBAY AND HAVE TO BLOCK THEM WITH YOUR BANK TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. WHAT AN ABORTION EBAY HAS BECOME.
