Increasing max bid from mobile app??

I have been unable to see a way to increase my max bid (ie if I've been outbid) from my iPhone app during an auction. Is this possible or not? Or do I have to use the website?

eBay search is not working properly and no updates are available

Trying to do searches for items on eBay, but searches are not working properly, never had a problem searching before. I cached for updates to the app, but none are available.
