How can I block them?

If the gift cards have not been used yet, you can call eBay and get a block placed on them.

If the gift cards have been used, there's no way to recover the funds.

Was it a eBay Gift Card.  eBay has some information about their card.   If you can get eBay on the phone ask if the can cancel the card and issue you a new card for the balance remaining.

Did you find something on another site and pay with gift cards? If so, Im sorry, you have been scammed. Ebay had nothing to do with it, you received a fake buyer protection invoice from Ebay. Gift cards are untraceable, and non refundable, and just like using cash..they are gone. Thats why scammers love them, and they are spent immediately with a guest account.

I'm wondering if the OP purchased some gift cards and gave the numbers to a stranger in some 

sort of transaction.   

Maybe they'll come back and fill us in.

Can we assume you made a purchase with your gift cards?  And if so was it on ebay?

It isn't easy to offer advice or suggestions when you have given us no details about what happened with your gift cards.

Have to ask, did you find something for sale on another site, not eBay, possibly a motor vehicle, and were told the sale would go through eBay for your protection?

Or is it some other issue? We won't know how to help unless you return to this thread and offer details.

Love this one hit wonders. Minimal to no details, rattle up the cage, and in the end, waste time where they could have received vital information to solve their problems. What do they think?

Those scammers redeem these cards as soon as they have the numbers.  

If it's been more than a few moments since the #s were given, those gift cards are gone.
