I had a Feeling eBay was going to Remove my Review- It's Not the 1st Time.
I'd also like to point out that the Seller asked me to leave a Good Review without Mentioning the Refund!
"We are sorry these did not fit your vehicle.
We will issue a refund right away and you do not need to return them back to us.
We hope you are satisfied with our service and are able to leave positive feedback with no mention of the refund.
Thank you and again we apologize for any inconvenience."
"We refunded for the entire purchase price.
We do not charge for shipping, as stated in our listing.
Any other fees would need to be taken up with ebay directly.
I apologize for any inconvenience."

@bearlover69 wrote:Yes, I'm aware there are 5 lug and 4 lug rims.
Please continue with your point.
My point is what I said: what is your car?
Either way, it looks to be an honest mistake and also looks like the seller took care of you in the best way possible.
By the way; you can get pads for that car for about the same price at 100 other places.

The Seller took care of themself and eBay in the Best Way Possible.
If he wanted to take care of me the Best Way Possible - they would have told me to Open a Return- Instead of Slamming the Door.

Well, maybe the Seller has a History of Selling Items Not as Described; and Perhaps that is why, they Issued the Refund and Blocked me from filing a Claim.
Also asked me to leave Positive Feedback - and Not to Mention the Refund!
I was trying to be "Respectful" by "Contacting the Seller 1st"- Letting them know, there was a Problem. To See if there was an Amicable Solution.
I've seen COUNTLESS Listings, where the Seller asks "Please Contact US 1st" if there's a Problem - before Opening a Case" and the "We'll Make it Right" Phrase!
I've seen-Numerous Comments from Sellers whom say "You didn't contact us 1st to Make it Right....
THIS WAS THIS SELLER'S BIG CHANCE and they TRIPPED and FUMBLED TERRIBLY !took it upon themself - to Slam the Door on me.
I Think I Know Why = Now!
I also did a Search of the Sellers 4 Additional Brake Pads Listings, that are supposed to fit my car. I let them know; I thought they too were Incorrect. - I thought I was Being COURTIOUS!
I thought if they REALLY Wanted to "Make it Right" they might Offer A Replacement. NOT!
They still have them listed, for the same vehicle?
take Note of the "Breath Easy Returns" Claim!
These were the 1st 2 messages to the Seller:
Hello My Friend,
I have just got this order today.
I ordered a Set of Pads for the Read of My Car - 2009 Volvo 40 <a>2.4l.<;/a>
The "Fitment Chart" said these fit my car... but they are much smaller."
I believe it's possible that you have this part listed for the wrong year.
These do not fit my 2009 Volvo S40 2.4L
I believe they fit: 00 - 04 Volvo S40 which has smaller pads in the rear than the front- as shown in this sellers listing (Pic)
These pads are too small for my 2009 Volvo S40 2.4L as indicated in the fitment chart.
Can you please offer a Return Shipping Label?
I think I was also being TOTALLY HONEST in My Review.
eBay's Policies or Not ...
If someone considers it a Scathing Review.. they should put the Shoe - on the Buyer's Foot!
No Good Deed has Gone UnPUNISHED!
If the Seller has Learned Nothing from this, they are Destined to Repeat the Same Mistakes.

The seller would have been required to send you a prepaid return label and to refund in total when the item was received back to him.
@soh.maryl
Not this time. It was an EIS sale. eBay is supposed to handle the whole thing, but it was thwarted because the seller refunded anyway????? What a mess!

For some reason, I doubt this "Mess", is the 1st by this Seller - and I Suspect, it Won't be the Last!

Thank you for that clarification.

If you know of a Hundred Places to find the Brake Pads for my Car @ the same cost...
maybe you can name- Just 1 or 2?

The seller proactively refunded without requiring a return. I'll bet that seller thought the buyer's international shipping would be refunded automatically by eBay. Actually, the seller has to jump through hoops to even see the buyer paid international ship costs because they're not shown on the order details page so the seller may not have even thought about it. From their end they refunded in full. I'm sure the seller had no idea it would create an issue with international ship costs. I'd wager most sellers would have no idea.
All that said, I spotted this in the MBG last week and thought of this thread. It took me several days to find the time to locate this thread again.
Apparently sending a site credit voucher for the ship cost is right there in eBay's policy. I would, however, be very interested to know what kind of expiration date eBay put on the OP's credit. From what was said, it sounds like it was valid for only a week?
OP's screenshot shows refund issued Jan 31, then OP posted here Feb 5 saying credit for eIS shipping was expiring next day. If eBay is going to issue site credit in situations where they cannot issue a refund then, in my opinion, that credit should be good for a minimum of 30 days, if not longer.
Also of note: I've seen eBay do a lot of eIS return shipping label refunds through PayPal (buyer pays return ship upfront and eBay reimburses through PayPal), so if the OP had paid with PayPal it's possible they would have been able to get a refund that way instead of a site credit? That is pure speculation based on other anecdotal evidence. We have no idea what went on between the buyer and customer service on this one.

With all Due Respect, it was a Not as Described Claim..
I guess it depends if you want to be an Honest Seller or a Crook-
They Played the System Perfectly!
So the seller issued you a full refund and allowed you to keep the item, is that correct?
I work on my own vehicles in addition to certain equipment I own, and yes it is annoying to receive parts that either don't work or don't fit. Very annoying, especially when I have already taken the machine apart...
Which is why and how I learned, always visually ensure fitment and confirm compatibility before tearing into the machine. That doesn't always save me, but ultimately if a seller is willing to cooperate and issue me a refund, I'm good with that...
One other thing I've learned is to pay close attention to who pays for the return when ordering (and before paying).

Ok bearlover, I think I have a clearer understanding now...
It is equally frustrating to me, for a simple mistake in the reason I chose...
Or because I contacted the seller first and they made a choice for me...
All these things amount to lessons learned.
However, other marketplaces and venues are not really much better in how they treat their customers. It's all AI powered anymore, nothing but robots and "customer NO service" help pages and so on... And one wrong click on our end (or the seller makes a mistake whether honest or otherwise) and we as buyers get the shaft.
Best I can tell you, is I learned how it works by making mistakes.
No business will help you if you mix up anything in the returns / refund process, it's not like it was back in the old days when a human being behind the counter would listen to us and make a determination.
In ways it's easier now, just a series of mouse clicks and you can have sellers completely obligated to refund you, in full, shipping too, and no questions asked.
But for that to work I had to learn the system.
And no matter what, which venue, every last vendor on the web has a system and no two are exactly the same. So learn one, any one, and stick with it.
