eBay cannot be trusted

I am now and over 2 to 3 weeks of dealing with eBay they knew right away that the address was the wrong address and did nothing about it did not notify the seller they say I put the wrong address and why would I put in Oklahoma when I live in New Mexico I put my address in I saw it somehow the computer changed it I notified the seller but they're late did not work as eBay said I was not a member so they did not accept my messages after complaining for a few days the seller got back to me said well we already shipped it I said well I tried from the moment that I put the order in to notify you and I did contact eBay in less than an hour and talk to them and they did nothing eBay ripped me off. $195 I spent for a product I never have gotten yet I have my bank reported as fraud and they are investigating I have the attorney general's office of New Mexico investigating everyone sees my point eBay is not to be trusted they're guarantee means nothing they lie they do not have a process of service to be able to contact the seller and they are responsible and they will pay one way or the other I have requested several times the legal service here in New Mexico so that I can take them to court and sue them they have not responded to me by law they must give me their legal service address and they have not replied do not trust eBay something happened with this company company. I will never ever use eBay again and I warn anybody to never use eBay they are not to be trusted.

Yes my bank is looking at it as fraud and agrees that if I had contacted eBay and they refused to change the address at the beginning I'm not at fault eBay is I didn't make a mistake in my address just in case you don't understand that. eBay can't be trusted.

I certainly will. eBay was contacted that somehow the wrong state, but they refuse to help.this was less than 30 mins after I repeatedly tried contacting the seller, a Chinese firm.

That's ridiculous irregardless whoever made the mistake I saw my address I know what state I live in I would not put Oklahoma here regardless there was no ability to correct the mistake immediately afterwards I contacted eBay and talk to him and they wouldn't do anything

@riob-78

Still confused, as I've never heard of this happening. (I avoid Chinese sellers, too... but I digress...)

So you saw the Oklahoma address (that gremlins added?), yet you let the order go through and then  tried to correct the mistake immediately afterward ?

If so, the time to change it was when you saw it, not before you pressed 'Pay Now'.

If it's not too late (still confused), and the seller is willing to intercept the package, they could. Then ship to New Mexico.

No I saw my whole address, but after I did the credit card, the transaction went right through. My credit card info included my zip code.

So I immediately saw the street address was right but different state. I immediately, tried link to seller with no prevail. After many attempts to contact seller I call eBay. The guy said he would make not but would no contact seller.

After more attempts, over day or so, eBay finally contacted seller but by then sellar shipped it Fed ex to Oklahoma. Finally days later after shipment, seller emailed me, said for me to get a friend to go get it. Unbelievable.

The issue here that no one, human or bot, checks the shipping address for its accuracy.

They rely on the buyer to recognize his own address or to change the address if he wants his package delivered somewhere else.  If I make a purchase that I want delivered to my cousin in PA, is someone or something on eBay going to message me, "Hey, that's not your correct address"?

With the correct street address, and the wrong state, I think its clear how this happened.

@riob-78

Your bank wants to keep your business ... and is telling you what you want to hear.  eBay does NOT change addresses, since eBay doesn't sell or ship anything.  The buyer needs to contact the seller they purchased the item from ... since they are the only person who can change the address.  [It is the seller who owns the item and is responsible for what happens to it.]

I have no intention of trying to change your opinion of eBay.  [If you want to blame eBay and consider it fraudulent and untrustworthy ... so be it.]  I am merely clarifying how eBay 'works' for other members who may be reading your thread and be unfamiliar with the rules.

I hope you're able to locate the item and have it returned to either you or the seller.  Good luck!

Was the error in the NAME of the state?

Was the POSTAL CODE correct?

The letters are less important than the number, since most processing is done by machines reading bar codes, right down to the point where the carrier starts filling her truck for delivery.

So if you wrote your postal code correctly, there is no problem.

If you wrote your postal code incorrectly, like by switching numbers around (92010 instead of 90210 ) then it goes to the section where "undeliverable " mail , with mistakes like that are corrected and sent out again to the correct address.

Has the shipment actually been delivered anywhere??

I will be waiting to read the results of your "attorney general" report and your bank's investigation and whatever happens with any lawsuit you might file.  Which eBay will reject and force you to engage in arbitration.  After you have paid the filing fees to start a lawsuit in the New Mexico State Courts system -- which will not be returned to you.

Even if -- especially if -- it all turns out to be Your User Error.

Over And Out.

Yes..close enough tho to make a mistake.

And it's very easy to make a mistake when scrolling down on/clicking a dropdown menu. I just did it earlier today while selecting the expiration month for my credit card when making a purchase on another site.

Period after what I've been through in the last 3 weeks I will never ever use eBay there are too many other companies I've never had this problem with Amazon.

It wouldn't have happened if you had checked the address and made sure it was correct.

Ebay doesn't know where you want the package shipped to, they use the address you provide when you pay.

There isn't any fraud, the package was shipped to the address you provided when you paid.

Have a great day.
